Whirtlwind14
I dowloaded Camon's MG-42 and nazi uniform mod but when I install it all I get is a red background with a white exclamation point in it. I have very little experience with modding and I don't know how to fix it or even what I might be looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I see many people who have gotten it to work. I am hoping someone can help me,Thanks.
Doofus87
Sounds like you don't have the archive invalidation properly set up. I know that using the FOMM (FallOut Mod Manager) option to do the archive invalidation works (for me at least :P) so I guess the first question is if you're using FOMM, or did you just try installing the mod straight into a vanilla (that is freshly installed) New Vegas? I also know that one time I installed a few mods that the textures/meshes didn't download or extract correctly. So if you are using the archive invalidated tool in FOMM, maybe try extracting the texture and mesh folders into the Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\Data folder (or wherever New Vegas is installed to) make sure that you follow the installation directions (if any.)Also, here's a fix to try posted in another thread, if FOMM doesn't rectify things. Good luck. :)
Whirtlwind14
I installed it directly, I have never used FOMM and am not familiar with it, this was my first time trying to use a mod, so as I said I really don't know anything.
Doofus87
In that case, I believe that the easiest to do would be to download FOMM (it's less than 1.5 Mb) and use the tools menu, all you have to do then is to place a check mark beside the "Archive Invalidation" option. And that should fix it, if not then the fix that I linked to in my previous post should rectify any other problems. Though from looking at the mod's page, it seems that the first version lacked the meshes needed. Meshes are what tell the game how the object(s) are supposed to be shaped. So if the above doesn't fix things, try redownloading the file, you might've gotten the one that lacked the meshes.
Whirtlwind14
Downloaded it again through FOMM and it worked perfectly, thank you very much.
