Puddycat
Ok firstly, don't shoot me \o/ I'm well aware that i must have messed up and something glaringly obvious is wrong somewhere, but i'm stumped now. So....after 1.4 patch i decided to make the change to Settlement Keywords and update all my settlement mods. Re-installed Homemaker, OCDecorator, Functional Displays and Business Settlements installing SK patches where applicable. The other settlements mods i use are up to date and only add to vanilla catagories so don't need SK patches (i think i'm right there). I also then just updated VIS so i could add the patches for that and Functional Displays. Now, in one way everything went swimmingly. I can start a new game, everything is there in the menus, no ctd in the build menu...everything seems great. The problem i'm having, is that i can only start a new game. Can't load my old one. I get 'fallout has stopped working' just after selecting the save i want to load. I am a bit of a serial saver, so i have a lot of back ups and i just can't get any of them to load. Only fresh games. The only way i can get my old save to load, is by disabling Business Settlements and it's SK patch. Tamayo advised me to disable the SK patch (till he investigates it i think) which should just leave all the objects from that in small signs. But that doesn't actually happen. Some objects still seem to get sorted into other menus. This confuses me totally. And either way, it still doesn't allow me to load my old save, only the new one. But i am curious as to how this could even happen. Is something getting left over when i uninstall maybe? Anyway, my load order is... I've tried multiple version numbers, SK versions and non-SK versions. But no joy and i miss my big signs :( I'm not the best at troubleshooting, but even more so with SK because i just don't really understand it fully ha....so if anyone has ideas i would greatly appreciate it. Atomant84
I'm having the same issue, new game works fine but every time I attempt to load a old save for my main character is crashes instantly. Been messing this load orders and reinstalling mods for the past couple hours. Even reinstalled Fallout 4. Disabling SK, Homemaker, Snap n Build, or Alternate Settlements doesn't make a difference either. If I figure out whats going on with mine ill let ya know. Puddycat
I don't think ours is the same issue. If you've disabled all your mods and still can't get your old save to load then it's probably that your save is corrupted. That's not the case with me, cause i know which mod to disable to get it to load, i just don't know why that's happening.
Darkelemental82
I don't have any saves to load and even when I click start new game (even without mods enabled) I crash to desktop. I have uninstalled 3x and still can't play. This really makes me not want to play anymore. It has been 3 days and hours and hours of trying to get it to work. It worked fine a few days ago and I had mods and decided to add more and it all went to crap and I cant get it back. Considering system restore to have what I had before and leave it to that no more mods.
dredlord45
For whatever reason, the three lines of code you add to the FalloutCustom.INI to turn mods on is making it impossible to load a save or start a new game for me.I deleted them:[Archive]bInvalidateOlderFiles=1sResourceDataDirsFinal= once I did, the game would let me make a new game and load it.I tried to turn my mods on, and it just crashes before the main menu.
