Making Oblivion Look Better

I installed QTP3 and Bomret's Texture Pack for SI, and am looking for other ways to make Oblivion look even better. I was looking at OBGE, but most of the screenshots look like movie special effects ('godrays', oversaturated colors, etc.) rather than realistic enhancements. Is this an accurate reflection of what OBGE is about, or am I missing something? (I'm not trying to be insulting here, just trying to determine whether I want to install it or not.)

Also, I was looking at book jacket mods, and found a lot of add-ons, but couldn't seem to find a 'core' mod that improved the look of the books in the base game.

Look for a good OMOD version of Unique Landscapes. That should give you a epic boost, and also get all the patches you need too!

What add-ons? All I can see is original mods and translated ones.

Book Jackets: Oblivion(Standard resolution)

Grimbot's DLC Book Jackets

The add-ons I was talking about were Grimbot's, plus one for COBL and one for KotN. I didn't see the first link you posted, somehow. Thanks!

I've got the UL Compilation OMOD, as well as Better Cities.

OBGE v2 is definitely worth the download..

Most of the effects it adds are very realistic and can be tweaked to suit your tastes, also you can choose which effects you have on.

And you might like one of my mods, it's called Realistic Water, it makes the water change depending on the time of day, weather, location, wind speed, ect...

Open Cities Reborn is a favourite of mine. Really makes the layouts of the towns so much more impressive and attractive. Leyawiin and Chorrol in particular come up a treat

Natural Environments has some pretty great additions in it, too
