layne135
I have been working on a mod that attemps to restore the wasteland to its Pre-War Glory. I recently finished up clearing Vernon Square of its rubble and nasties. When I go to play the mod in Fallout 3, it crashes when I try to enter Vernon Square. It worked before, and now it doesn't. Can somebody help me? I will give you any information you need, I just need help figuring out what went wrong. Please resomnd back ASAP!!! Sincerly,-Layne
GrindedStone
Don't break the game, which is basicly what you are doing. You want to change the game, instead of adding content too it. For example if you created a tiny worldspace, like most of the downtown areas, you could do whatever you want. Or like Tranquility lane, it's a seperate worldspace. You could also clean your mod, remove identical to master records, and Set delete to disabled with a "inherited by parent" filter appied in FO3 edit Disabled works better than deleted, an can solve crashes where two mods change the same thing. Though it sounds like maybe you have an issue with LOD data. If you were insane I guess you could duplicate the worldspaces which you wanted to edit, under a seperate name, edit them, an then port them in with a time machine. The real problem you have is that it's a very large idea, if you said you wanted to make a pre war hood like tranquility lane, that's achiveable, a pre war wasteland isn't... I don't know man. I had fun doing that kind of thing. It just seems that it takes up so much time with very little reward. Too much for one person to do.
BlackRampage
You could, of course, also give this mod a try instead: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16191 Haven't yet tried it myself (I like the way Fo3 looks) but it looks quite promising.

layne135
It's just really stange that it happened only at Vernon Square. I fixed the Mall and Mason District and they did not have any problems. I'm appling a filter right now to see what that does.
GrindedStone
You could start a new game too, could be a save crash...
layne135
Well, I restored the file back to about a week ago. I have lost my progress on the Mall, Museum of Tech, and Museum of History, which really stinks. From now on, I am going to back up the file everytime I edit it. I tried the suggestions, and still, it crashed when I tried to enter Vernon Square. Thank you all for the great advice! -Layne135
GrindedStone
Do you make models an textures for this thing? Have you ever seen Project DC interiors by chuck. He built it in seperate areas in seperate files. Modulatorzsom, Modular I mean. You could load one or two or all of them. Later this was turned into the merger of them. Chuck did some models. I know the most fun I had was just wall banging. Making places an making the models for the places without closing the geck. On the spot as fast as I could.
