otimpyre
With HDT physics would it be possible to have whips, chains, and morning stars? Hold right click draws weapon back and let go cracks the whip? Idle kinda swings it getnly back and forth along the ground. Would be cool to have God of War chains too! Kill moves? Decapatation.... Just a thought that popped in my head. Passing it on. Also noticed Skyrim doesn't have pole arms. Bardich, halberd.... What's up with that? Hope this inspires someone to figure it out and pull it off. Peace. iXenite
I'm not sure why a morning star would need HDT to get in the game properly. Isn't it fairly similar to a mace? You might be thinking of a flail.

iXenite
I think the HDT physics are just going to make these weapons look really clumsy at best. That's not counting the times the physics bug out and things look crazy, which will happen. It's the unfortunate nature of using Havok physics. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't see it happening. While HDT is cool, it is also very buggy and unnatural I'm afraid. As for the other weapons, I just think it's an animation thing. My assumption is that Bethesda just didn't want to bother animating those weapons, as they are a bit more involved then just swinging it left and right. Know what I mean? Bit of a shame. Kingdom Come: Deliverance seems like it might be adding those weapons though, which is cool (albeit a little bit unrelated maybe). Edit: On the subject of flail like weapons. I've never understood them. I mean, how clumsy can a weapon get? I always looked at the flail as being just as deadly to the user as it was the person the user was trying to kill. I don't know, I just never understood it. A mace totally get, I just don't get the flail. As for Kratos and his weapons, I agree. Those are pretty awesome. More games should use stuff like that. Maybe not in Skyrim though, the gameplay doesn't really support the intense visceral combat of something like God of War. Dark Souls is a better model for where I'd like the Elder Scrolls combat to go (from a third person gameplay perspective). Slow and calculating fits better I think. Just my thoughts. fore
I doubt that it would be that hard.... if we had the right tools. HDT will not bring us very far here. I have made flail animations in Oblivion. I think they looked quite natural. Just didn't get the attention since they were released before Skyrim cam out. In Skyrim it's the problem with behaviors. Again. Weapons like bows have a "skeleton", and the animations are controlled by behavior files. But since they are so hard to implement without HBT, the only one I know who did such things is Anton0028. Like the wings.
