DS4 Tool and Bluetooth issue

Recommended Posts

OK so I've spent hours trying to get this to work and I'm at my wits end, so if anyone could help me that would be great.

Basically I have a bluesoleil bluetooth device and I'm trying to get my PS4 controller to work with it using DS4. I have installed all the drivers and done the usual faff and I can get it to successfully connect with a USB wired connection. However I simply cannot get the bluetooth to work with the tool itself. Using the bluesoleil adapter I can connect to bluetooth to play games with the controller that don't use Xinput (basically those that don't require DS4 or ROMS), as DS4 will not register it, despite it showing all the calibration s#*! working fine when I go into the control panel within the tool. I've seen a lot of people connecting to their device via the Microsoft generic adapter stack in order to make it work with DS4, but mine just will not connect that way and I just can't seem to figure out why.

If anyone else has a solution to this problem I'd greatly appreciate the assistance. Thanks.

I've only ever connected my DS3 to a PC, I haven't tried the DS4 yet. So, I cannot provide personal experience on this. With that said, this article might be of some help.

How to Connect PS4's DualShock 4 Controller to a PC:

Yea that is one of the websites I used while setting up. I've tried exclusively pairing, but it won't work. I can't get as far as step 3 in the instructions, because I can only pair my bluetooth using the bluesoleil adapter which does it differently. The generic Microsoft stack won't even detect my controller.

Okay, I recently paired my DS4 with my laptop and things went fine. I did this with a wired connection with the charger cable that comes with the controller. I have not set it up with Bluetooth yet though. All I did was run the program, and then plug the controller in and it paired up just fine.

Are you using Windows 10? If so, you do not need the 360 drivers to make it work. That might be the issue here. Also, is your Bluetooth adapter a real physical USB dongle thing, or something else? I haven't heard of that one. I can't remember what brand mine is, but it's a Micro USB thing, it's very small.

P.S. Sorry for taking so long to reply. I've been busy with a lot of college stuff.

Yea, I know that's where I'm having trouble. When it's wired it pairs fine, it's the bluetooth I can't seem to get to work with for some reason. The bluetooth controller combo works fine with games that don't require me to use DS4.

I am using windows 10, but I didn't install the 360 driver because I'm a good boy who follows instructions and it said I didn't need them. Not that it would have made any difference anyway as by the sound of it, it would only have installed drivers which are already present in windows 10. And yea I use a small USB dongle, kind of similar to the sort of one you'd have for a wireless mouse. It's a Bluesoleil one.

P.S. That is fine, I'm not holding you to any sort of deadline. If I get this sorted in my lifetime I'll be happy, albeit full of regret that I didn't spend my life more meaningfully.

Hey, I know this was ages ago and you may already know about this, but Steam supports the DS4 now. Maybe that will allow you to pair your controller wirelessly? I haven't been able to test it myself as I've not really been able to do anything with PC for a while now sadly.
