I personally have never used Hand-to-Hand though I truly thought about it. I gave it the most chance in Oblivion but blocking barely blocked damage from weapons which, while to be expected, was a bit of a shame.

How effective was it for you, if you gave it enough of a chance to level it up?

Also, would anyone else like to see hand to hand weapons like iron knuckles and the like? It's probably too late to start adding in new models and ideas for Skyrim but maybe some enterpring modder could make it. :psyduck:

No but I like to know that if I lose my weapons I can use my hands and legs, it adds realism to the game.

I think that to be effective, a block in hand-to-hand should focus more on dodging than stopping the attack. I didn't use Hand to Hand in Morrowind or Oblivion because it was pitifully ineffective against almost anyone when a sword could make easy work of them. Even more so in Morrowind, where you had to use it to drain their fatigue then damage them only when they were knocked down.

H2H was done much better in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Firstly there were unarmed 'weapons' like brass knuckles and power fist that you can use to mete out some serious punishment. Then there were kicks of various types, not just using hands. And there was a viable way to upgrade via the perks that suited H2H.

With a bit of work, focusing on H2H could make you pretty awesome as an unarmed character.

The question is whether the Devs will carry over what they managed with Fallout into Skyrim. I hope and believe that they will.

There is only some much you can do with knuckle weapons in a fantasy setting. Though I think I would trade normal damage for a myriad of extra abilities and effects. Like learning disarms faster, being able to learn paralyzing strikes. Basically, things that would make it more akin to becoming an in-game martial artist rather than an efficient brawler.

And yes, a dodge rather than block would be greatly appreciated. They can't use the same system as they did the evasive roll in Oblivion.

I first used solely swords and axes in previous TES games. However, after I realized how useful fists were, I created a sort of "brawler-mage," and I had an absolute blast with it (no pun intended  ).

Yes but I´m still confused, hand to hand skill was removed but does that mean we can´t fight with our fists?Like oh we can fight but it doesn´t evolve as it´s not attached to a skill.
