What all do you need for the Trap for which is needed for the Kayran? I've got the frame. Any other info would be appreciated as it seems they Kayron is the only thing for which I've got left to finishing this part out.

Ok folks found the receipe for the Kayran trap. Once again should have checked with Cedric. Now what gets me for the trap I need 2 Silver ore and to have the Superb Silver Swrod made I need 4 Silver ore. I've only found 2 silver ore and I've been through everything on the map. Is there on 2 in this chapter/Act or is there actually 6 and I'm missing them some where?

I believe the dwarven blacksmith has silver ore to sell

You were right some how I had over looked him in all my cheking of all the other's including the Mysterious Merchant. Got wat I need and now can make the Superb Silvlver sword. Also thinking of making a Jagged steel sword. Will also make some upgrades to my Blue Stripes armor. Think I'm going to need all the help for which I can get with this kayran.<LOL> Thanks again for your help.

I didn't use the trap either. But I sure did use the Quen sign....a lot!

Speaking of that trap i have been hanging around looking for the darn Frame...i have had all the other stuff and 5 ostmurk potions but cannot find any frame. Can I get a shove towards where i get it?

Thanks

Looked all over that courtyard in back of Loredo's House, never found a frame. Thought maybe it would be in the madhouse. Am enjoying this but fear my arthritis in the hands is going to stop me right in Flotsam. Cannot beat the Kayran, very dissapointing as I am really enjoying this one!!!

When Roche tells you he will distract the guards and merchant comes up to you to talk, he tells you about the trap. In my case (second play through) I didn't talk to him, and the trap was not there, that is, the steel frame. I did not use the trap myself, but the frame should be by a wall down by the guards. Timing is important as you climb down off the platform and then I think you have to jump over a wall (to the right) of the platform(?). It seems to me there was a guard over by a door and I had to be careful not to get caught and there was a short wall close by. Look it up on the Wiki if nothing else.

As for the fight with the Kayran, I did not use Quen (as much as I would have liked to.) You will hear Sile' shouting to use Yrden while the fight is going on. And for good reason. It is work and takes a lot of fast keyboard work, but it is a challenge. You should have your silver sword by the way and I used 'Whet stone' with it. I also used the 'Mongoose' potion.

As I enjoy a good challenge and I prefer not to use any armor, I did the first play through (easy mode) just in the breeches...great fun and finally got him. Now playing again on 'normal' and thanks to a recent mod, with out the breeches.

I saved the Kayran fight for after all the side quests I could do to build up Geralt's strengths and experience. This paid off as I was able to have the time to up grade his equipment and make him as tough as possible. There is a QTE to look for after you get the third tentacle, so be looking for it.

have fun, and I think this is certainly one of the best fights in the game, just my opinion.

Now that I've finally had time to sit down and beat the Kayran I was wondering if the armor was worth getting made? Is it better than the La' roche armor for which I've currently got? Can it be upgraded?

Place for 3 Upgrades. If you're in act 1 and have all the elements it pays off to craft it, if not there are good pieces of Armor available in the first half of Act 2.

So It's better than the Blue armor for which I've currently got equipped? Also does anyone know of all the Armor Enhancements for which are out there? are there better ones than +2 Ac +10 to health?

Also is it worth putting out the gold for the kayran Carapice Armor reinforcements which gives +1 AC; 5% resistances to Poisoning & Bleeding and a Vigor Rengeration of +5%? Or is there better out there?
