KennethKarl
Let's face it, Some of us have no discipline. Does anyone know of a way to prohibit access to the console command menu?
jhardingame
Get a new keyboard. (Seriously) Some keyboards have drivers that prohibit you from accessing the console. I know my USB keyboard does.(though, I always uninstall those drivers that prevent that. A modder's gotta do what a modder's gotta do. :P)
KennethKarl
I have a wireless USB keyboard, but I'm not to sure if I have those drivers. One way I've been copping is by using my Xbox 360 controller, when its on the keyboard does nothing. But the downside to that is that I cant use my sprint mod! It's not a huge issue, but it's the little things that count.
KDStudios
Most keys on the keyboard can be removed without damaging the keyboard itself.Just take the key out? ;)
cavveman
Doesn't it work to change bAllowConsole=1 to bAllowConsole=0 in the .ini file?
KDStudios
I tried that once upon a time and it didn't change anything :/ Although it should...
cavveman
Ok. This is a .reg file that shuts down the caps lock file Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout] "Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,3a,00,00,00,00,00 However, you cam look up this Keyboard Scan code page http://www.ee.bgu.ac.il/~microlab/MicroLab/Labs/ScanCodes.htm As you can see on the page, 3A is Caps lock, in the code you can see where that is written. So search for whatever your Console button is, change from 3A, to whatever your need is. Since I have a swedish keyboard i cant test it. Hopefully it will work for you.
falloutperson416
I wish I could do this... (I can, but when a deathclaw is riding my ass and all I have is 9mm, well, the console can be helpful.)
gusano
Develop some willpower.Keep a steak knife handy. Every time you abuse that key, jab yourself. With all the buggy issues like "pc getting stuck in a rock", "quest not initiating", "quest item and/or npc not spawning", "quest dependent npc already dead" and many other swell game breakers, you might still want to keep your console-key access available. Klipperken
You can ask a good friend to stick around when you game. With each CHEAT (this means you CAN do modding stuff etc, just not cheating) he is meant to "****-slap" you silly. He will even become a better friend from his point of view. *grins* EDIT: I said a GOOD friend, someone you can trust, not someone like me, I would slap you anyway, cheating or not.
