I created this when i thought Oblivion looked similar to RuneScape.

NOSTALGIA WARNING: If you played runescape sometime around 2002-08 (when runescape was actually good) then you will feel immensely nostalgic by the music.

EDIT: I thought i should probably explain things better.

I was originally going to compare it to the more recent RuneScape, but i don't have the UI for it, nor do i fancy ripping it from the game. Also, i couldn't tone the graphics down to meet Runescape 2008, so it looks like a modern olden cross.

In the video, i draw similarities to the Camera angle (which often misalligned due to the lack of turning while in camera rotation), similarities to the world (looks like im passing Lumbridge castle... 3 years ago) and general feel. I was going to add a overhaul to the UI, but my video editor doesn't support moving objects, so the health bar/hit markers would float in trhe wrong places.

I may make a different and more improved video soon, since the original was pretty much a test.

There are a few similarities in terms of setting and loot, but that is precisely where the relationship ends.

Oblivion has no "mundane" skills, the combat is not chance-based single-click, the dungeons are all leveled to your character no matter where you are inside them, and best of all you don't have to deal with any blithering idiots who don't understand how to type simple English and make every other word a swearword that is censor-bypassed.

And the vanilla game doesn't have anything as woefully unbalanced as the Godsword of Armadyl. That thing is infamous, and it definitely played a part in the ruining of the game.

And before people ask, yes, I have played Runescape, but I left around 2008 when (as the OP says) the game was trashed.
