Better image-reporting system?

Would it be possible to make a "report this image" button for the image share that's like the one on the files, with a nice little dropdown menu of reasons for reporting, too? It would make things much easier.

I would like to see this as on the rare occasion Site bot doesn't leave a comment to report as that seems to be the only way I know to report an image directly (Besides pm'ing a moderator/admin), you could also just go to the persons profile and report them with a link to the image in the report.

But like I said I would like to see a report button on the imageshare place, makes it a lot more easier. :)

Out of simplicity I don't mind if there isn't a dropdown menu though. Just a button to bring the image to the staff's attention http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif

I have to look at this one from both sides of the fence. So please don't think that I'm arguing against the idea. Because I like it.

But... at the same time, we get TONS of "accidental" reports where people have accidentally clicked the Report button, rather than the Reply icon. Whether just entirely by accident, or due to a language barrier issue.

Tho too.... it takes all of about 20 seconds to type out "Accidental report. Closed" or whatever. :whistling:

Tho what I'D really like to see is an auto-notifier option like we have when we put a mod in review mode. Where it sends a message to the poster automatically. To save us the time of having to contact the poster in order to let them know why it was removed.

No, it's not going to be anywhere near a reply button, or shouldn't be. :) If it is distinct from the "Rate" and "Comment" buttons then we won't be having any problems.

Drop downs can be a pain in the butt because they tend to limit the reasons for reporting. I don't mind doing a bit of typing.

I wouldn't mind seeing such a button integrated, if not just so it doesn't have to redirect to the forum in order to go through. I'm not always logged in on both sides. :turned:

This is solely my opinion, but I think some people report on images just to spite the member, because they hate or don't like them. I posted an image of a character supposedly ripped from a game and it was removed within an hour (I'm not arguing), but what bothers me is someone else posted this same ripped character on the same site in the image share and it's been up for 8 months, has over 5500 views, and 19 endorsements and no one reported this image, coincident or maybe I have one too many people who don't like me; my files, images, etc. I'll give you a hint it's on the New Vegas Nexus. What I'm trying to say is people will let things slide if it's certain members that they like, but will report members whom they don't like. i.e me:) hurheehur!

The moderators can't look at every image on the site; only those that get reported. Report it yourself, instead of waiting on other people to do so. Otherwise the mods won't ever know of it.
