Dark Brotherhood Monastery

Hi All. I'm making a Mod and need your advice! The mod I'm making adds a fortress of sorts high in the jeralls (beyond the border) for the dark brotherhood. The idea is that it provides training grounds for the elite dark brothers and sister, ones trained in combat more than stealth. These Elite soldiers are the ones who defend Cyrodiils dark brotherhood from the morag tong assaults. Once you become the listener of the DB you aid in the building of the structure much in the same way as buying the houses in cyrodiil. The structure is already there, but you have to "buy" the features. You buy them not with money, but by performing classic assassinations. Once the Monastery is complete, it will provide a fully furninshed house for you player and for the 10 or so elite agents that will reside their. Right now I'm BUILDING the "house" and need some help with content. I want to know what YOU'D like to see and also what type's of things should be in their, as it is a DB sanctuary. So far the plan of content is:

  • 1 New complex (modeled directly from cloud ruller)
  • 1 new suit of armor (Similar to DB armor but heavier and stronger)
  • 10 new soldier npcs
  • 1 merchant
  • 1 Monk/priest (sells spells)
  • A few new ingredients (and a poison garden)
  • The types of things you'd find in any other house (armory, library, alchemy area, etc)
  • Possibly cattle for a vampire (if I can work out how to do it)

Plus the quests.

I'm struggling with ideas about what I should put in the different areas. If you have any ideas of what you want to see just tell me. I'm dieing for it. Also: the great hall is a type of meeting place with daily sermons. What should I put in? A sacrificial altar perhaps?

Never really liked how mods kept trying to add stuff based on cloud ruler... The outside just seemed a bit unoriginal, also, doesn't seem right for the dark brotherhood. Somehow my idea of what a DB sanctuary is supposed to look like comes from that one open cave in morrowind (tribunal) with all those neat little nooks and passages. They wouldn't be training out of something as obvious as a mountain fort, they would be using something that looks unimposing on the outside. You could probably throw together something pretty cool looking by using caves, rocks, bridges, and other similar bits, and it would look like something unique.

Its not so much a sanctuary. More like a stronghold. Imagine it as a place of refuge in a war with the Morag Tong. Trust me, its in the middle of no where. Your wouldn't be able to see anything conspicuous at a distance. To get close enough to see thats its dark brotherhood is to get close enough to get snipered.

Besides, its already done and it looks cool.

Its not too spoky. And once there are armored assassin's walking around it'll feel like home. Heres some pics of the exterior and the great hall/mess hall.

The mess hall is nearing completion. Do you think it should have a sacrificial altar? or some form of ritual area?

Thoose pics look very good. And yes i can imagine that it feels like home when 10 assasins walk around. However i think the stronghold is a little tiny bit to bright for a dark brotherhood place. Maybie to cut down the lights and have some kind of red lights if you know what i mean. And yes i think there should be a sacrifice altar , Maybie schedules so the assasins can prey to sithis.

Another pretty cool idea is to have morag tong attack like once or twice a week. Maybie even a few camps with morag tong soldiers around the stronghold ready to attack. However I like the concept and the cloud ruler temple model was a good choise.

Will this come with a lengthy questline?

Those spikes with skulls on.

Put loads in that little patch of stuff outside:

Alright seems fair , But don't overflow it with skulls and stuff on that little place , Rather spread it out a bit over the temple.

Also when have you planned to release is?

@Marre_pro:

I will include 1 morag tong assault, that will be the final part of the quest line. But there will only be 1, after that its more of a safe house. The stronghold isn't that bright, i've brightened the pictures so you can see whats going on. Inside I think I've achieved the lighting rather nicely. Heres an un-altered version of one of the pictures:

@Ginji:

I was planning on putting the Poison garden in that patch. But I could still surround the patch with skully sticks. Maybe have them as vine support.

@The_dark_brother:

Quest line wont be too long. Probably 5-7 assassinations, then the final assault. It wont be challenging for the listener of the DB, it will be just like your early days in the cheydenhall sanctuary.

@Marre_pro again:

The structure will probably take 7-8 days to complete, but that will be spread over weekends. After thats done, I hope to team up with someone with more experience than I to make the quest line. Once the building is finished I will release it as a teaser.

...Which brings me too the request for a teammate. You'd need a few miles experience with oblivion script/quest making. Of course, no work would be required until the first part is finished. Any volunteers? Remember, i'm looking for someone with experience.
