jcscrogs
I used the guides from this site to help me get Wrye Bash up and running (refer to the links below), but was only able to get it set up as 32-bit and I have a 64-bit system. Being this program does so much, I would like the extra performance that having a 64-bit version would provide. Regardless, I am happy that I finally got it working at all, Wrye Bash is a must for anyone serious about running mods - the options it provides are essential!!! The reason I even posted this question is because the Python pack I downloaded was the solution to all of my problems (I installed every program in the pack), but it is set up to set you up for 32-bit. Through my troubleshooting before I found this Python pack, I installed 4 different versions of python on my computer, all installed C:/Python25, 26, 27, 32 (versions 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, and 3.2), can I use this pack, and install all components from it, to the python32 (which is the most recent version I found of Python) and have it work? or do I need to get different versions of the programs (specifically for the Python 3.2 version)? I understand that the reason most users of Wrye Bash have problems installing it, is because the Python programs (some of them) depend on a specific version of another Python program (Python, wxPython, Comtypes, etc, etc...), does anyone know of the proper programs of Python to get the 64-bit up and running? Links from TES Nexus which tremendously helped me in getting Wrye Bash running (USE LINKS PROVIDED ON THESE PAGES FOR ADDITIONAL REFERENCES): Wrye Bash Wrye Bash Pictoral Guide Wrye Python Custom and PyFFI dev version *The last link is where I got all the Python programs needed to get Wrye Bash up and running originally. And before anyone comments, yes I read guides extensively, as many as I need to, I earnestly try to figure out everything myself before I ask a question, yet I am a noob at this, but I could not find a good guide describing this. Also, I know I ramble some, I try to be as specific as possible when asking something, so people know better of what I am asking help for. jcscrogs
Awesome, I appreciate it, I don't have time to try to find and install it right now, but will definitely let you know if that worked when I do. I have Wrye Bash working on my 64-bit, but its running in 32-bit because of the python programs. BTW, I am the type of person who likes to have a backup of all files, I have the original compressed version of every mod, program, Vanilla Data Folders and Saves, just in case I need them, which has come in handy more than you would imagine. Since it isn't the game itself would anyone want a Vanilla Data Folder or a collection of my patched OMODs (basically updated) which are unavailable on TES Nexus, would that even be ok? I downloaded 1 collection of OMODs, but haven't seen many more, I find those useful, especially starting out. I have literally spent days trying to get mods I want (and all the ones they require) and I only find more I want. I am definitely going to endorse a ton of mods, but the one that surprised me the most so far is Bananasplits Better Cities, which was a pain to get running semi-properly (even though I followed the instruction to a T), but now I have it in 4 OMODS that work for me (Leyawiin crashes at the docks though). I am amazed at these mods and their scope to manipulate the game in ways Bethesda never intended, but damn, there are some really talented people out there and I enjoy gong "shopping" where I can choose what I am going to do to the game, yet I find myself messing with mods a lot more than playing the game, so far... Oh, Quarls Texture Pack especially with Bananasplits mod, wow, utterly amazing (if you download it use the mirror), although he could now download the entire OMOD on here now that they've changed the size restriction from around 300 mb to over a gig, (if I remember correctly), which brings up another point, if people were on top of things they would compress and re-release packs they previously couldn't... Unnecessary Violence, OOO, Thieves Arsenal Odd Jobs, Body Packs, Hotkeys, Races, having a mini-map is nice, too. CM and the other partners mods, and on and on are all awesome, and as for an intro, I like the Fiery Oblivion Video Map Loop Replacement the most, so far. I used to make an OMOD of every mod I could before I got Wrye Bash up and running, I still use OBMM a lot, but try to screen the mods before I import it directly into Wrye Bash, as OBMM will let me know which ones conflict the most, (thus I try to import those that conflict the most in Wrye Bash). Again I find myself rambling, my bad, I really can't wait until I get a better grasp on Wrye Bash, and hope I can get the 64-bit up and running, but for someone who isn't too computer-literate, I am accomplishing more with these mods than I expected to (getting them to run and compatibility in general). kludermor
Awesome, I appreciate it, I don't have time to try to find and install it right now, but will definitely let you know if that worked when I do. I have Wrye Bash working on my 64-bit, but its running in 32-bit because of the python programs. Well I don't know if Wrye Bash is running 64bit. I just installed the latest version when I got python installed without any errors about 32bit.
kludermor
After completing the game I also spend way more time installing mods and trying them out. Tweaking and making everything look nice.
jcscrogs
Yeah, right now, I am just trying to grasp better the implementation and utilization of mods, but there is a ton to learn which I am doing, yet, your suggestions above didn't get the 64-bit installed, but I will keep trying and if I find a solution I will let you know. Tamujiin
If you go to the python download area, ( google python download ) they have the 64-bit files.
jcscrogs
Lol, yes, that link is exactly the one I used when trying to find all the correct Python programs originally, and is why I have 4 different versions on my computer, none of the combinations I found worked for the 64-bit... I am extremely thorough in my searches, I assure you, and as I stated earlier, I only asked this question after 2 days of trying to figure it out on my own. And as I also mentioned earlier, I am a noob, that I won't deny.

jcscrogs
So you send me to the TES Alliance forum home page? Thanks for the help... I never could find anything at all about Wrye Python whether for downloads or information. Edited June 8, 2011 by jcscrogs
