Need help with creating new LOD files.

I'm making a mod called Tel Avius, which is located on a mountain but I have removed all the snow from that mountain.

But from far away the snow still appears to be on there...

After doing some searching I found out that I need to create new terrain LOD files, which is probably done with a program called "Oscape", but after trying it a few times I keep messing it up it seems.

Every time I load the Skyrim.esm and the Tel_Avius.esp it seems that the cells where I placed my mod are missing the Heightfield, and if I generate the LOD it comes out as flat as a pancake.

Could someone please help me out on how to use this program, or maybe even create these new LOD files for me.

From far with snow:

Looking at the screen shots I'm assuming this is in the Tamriel Worldspace. If it is you need to regenerate the LODs for all of Tamriel. From reading a few posts on the S.T.E.P. forum on DynDoLOD, it is loadorder specific so if you include the files with your mod it may alter the lods of any users of your mod.( I'm no expert just an assumption I have not used it yet). I have used Oscape and TES5LodDen many times with success and would be willing to give it a shot. PM me and we can talk further.

I don't think DynDoLOD is the thing thats going to help me because that only seems to be working for objects, buildings and trees, but I see no mention there about the landscape terrain(texture/mesh) itself.

I dont need any new building or tree LODS, its just the snow on that mountain is removed and replaced by grass, and then I also elevated a small part of the landscape to allow the player to walk up on that mountain.

For my previous mod (Tel Nalta) someone else did this as well and he gave me a few .BTR files that had to be placed under "Data\meshes\terrain\tamriel", this is exactly what I'm looking for with Tel Avius as well.

But sadly he never explained in detail how he managed to do this and he hasn't been on Nexus for over a year now.

Ac3s , I am hardly a knowledgable modder, and it's been a while but I think I remember it is hard to change the LOD in a running game (isn't it created during a new game start) . And wasn't there an option in the CK itself to update the LOD? My tip would be to try a new game.

I don't think it has anything to do with a quest Skivala, I believe its a few .BTR and .BTO files that I need but I have no clue on how to make them.

Some mods can make .BTO files, but I have no idea how to get my hands on those .BTR files.

The .btr and .bto files are created when you generate the LODs for a worldspace. btr files are terrain and bto files are for objects. And as a side note btt files are for trees. I have no problems creating those files, the issue is that the files that are created, do not have your changes in them , and thats where the problem is. I can't figure out how to get the changes to the Tamriel LODs appear as they should in your mod.

By the way, I have been talking with the creator of TES5LodGen on another forum to try and get this solved. But if anyone has any suggestions they are welcome.
