frakle
I've recently began to nose around the construction set, and I made 2 test mods. One adds two plates and a larger than average piece of cheese to the Wawnet Inn. The other changes the cellar to be unlocked and owned by nobody, and it changes the size of a pewter mug and changes the place of it. Now, I can usually only run Oblivion with the "run as administrator" option, but my mods only show up on the Data Files list when I just double click the icon. And, when I run it standardly, it crashes as soon as I get to the main menu. What is the problem?
frakle
I've isolated the problem. It's a mod. I disabled all my mods except Alternative start by Robert Evrae, and it works fine. I'll have to do some more tests to isolate the exact mod, so stay tuned.
frakle
It's CM Partners. That's a shame, because I really like that mod. :( Oh well.
Balakirev
This makes me curious--as it should you, as a modder. ;) Why would CM Partners interfere with either of those two things? CM Partners doesn't address the content you're editing. Do your test mods have any dependencies? Have you checked them out with Wrye Bash, and TES4Edit? Sorry, I just started last night, and I have no idea what any of this stuff is.
MotoSxorpio
Wyre Bash is a multi tool featuring mod management and save management, lots of goodies for the expert. TES4Edit is a line by line editor similar in power to CS. Construction Set Entended is an expanded and bug reduced version of the CS. All good tools. Here have a link to get you started on the right track, note this is an older site, yet still maintained with decent and newb friendly pages: http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/?page=programs_and_utilities I recommend scanning thru the whole site. ;)
