mr food11
Hello, I have plenty of good mods. Not that many drastically changing mods besides some that have been downloaded by hundreds of thousands of people. When I last tried them all activated it worked fine. However, my brother plays the game vanilla and so I had to reactivate them all after he got done playing. I was with him while he was playing, so I know he didn't do anything wrong. Anyways, I reactivate the mods and load my game. However some things go HORRIBLY wrong... http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/527/screenshot14bu7.png I had a similar problem a while ago which was fixed by going to the launcher and going to options and hitting "reset", but that didn't work this time. I deactivated all of my mods too, and THAT didn't work. Please help!!! http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/4944/screenshot16sz2.png UI screen. That blob of colors is my character. http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/7448/screenshot19ax3.pnghttp://img516.imageshack.us/img516/5201/screenshot20hp1.png Cairn Bolete http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/4223/screenshot21kn1.png Missing ground at arcane university http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/5544/screenshot22zy4.png Taken at Bruma http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/2489/screenshot23yq9.png Also at Bruma, when I opened up the escape menu (computers on LSD lol) http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/5691/screenshot25yv9.pnghttp://img516.imageshack.us/img516/5435/screenshot27ix6.png When I start a new game http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/2415/screenshot28ij6.png After exiting race menu and opening up escape menu And not only all of this, but it is INCREDIBLY LAGGY. I want to reinstall it, but will it keep my saves? It's not that I want to keep them, but I want to start with a clean slate. Can somebody PLEASE HELP ME!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??????? Thank you!!! Switch
Whooa psychedelic man. I can feel the colours. @.@ Ahem anyway, yes, that's extremely messed up. Back-up your saves by going to My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves and copying all the *.ess files to somewhere else on your PC. Then reinstall and play without any mods to see if the problem persists. If it does then it may be a problem with your graphics card. Certainly some of that looks like the interesting effects I got before my GeForce4 Ti4200 croaked.

Thanks for replying I reinstalled it but it restored all of my files; all of the mods, all of the save files. Is it supposed to do this? I thought I'd start out fresh, but it restored all files, and all corrupt files Should I reinstall it in a different location?
Switch
Ohh yeah sorry, if you want a completely clean slate you'll have to uninstall, then delete the Bethesda Softworks folder from Program Files (which includes the Data folder) and delete My Documents\My Games\Oblivion. NO Listen pal, take your savegame-files and keep them somewhere safe. Then, uninstall Oblivion and remove the Bethesda Softworks folder. Once you've done that, reinstall the game and see if your problem persists in vanilla Oblivion. If all is fine, then start installing & activating 1 MOD AFTER THE OTHER. Hope that helpedNemolgades
Switch
I already said how to back-up his saves before my previous post. Read the thread before reacting eh? Apart from that you've mostly restated everything I've already said. But yes it is true if all is fine you should start reactivating one mod at a time. That would delete all his savegames as well.
TheTerminator2004
Not if he'd done what Switch said to back up his saves beforehand, in which case the saves would be somewhere else.
