mirandaellis
Okay, so here's the situation: I just did a clean re-install, and made the switch to mod organizer. I've been watching alot of youtube videos trying to figure out how to work with MO. Anyway, I ran TES5Edit through MO to clean my master files. After doing so, I had and "overwrite" message. I right clicked "overwrite" and clicked "create mod". I named it "TES5Backups", because I was watching a video on how to make a backup file in MO for TES5Edit. Now on my load screen, instead of it reading dawngaurd, hearthfire, dragonborn (with the 3 high res packs following of course) - It now reads TES5Edit Backups, followed by the high res packs. Did I mess up? and if I did, how do I undo it? If this is a dumb question, I'm sorry, please dont kill me, I'm VERY new at this, and I'm practically a dinosaur when it comes to operating all of this new software. kevkiev
I'm not really sure I'm following what you did, but am getting that you don't have your game exe. files anymore? (eg TESV.exe) If so, verifying game cache in steam will replace/install any corrupt or missing vanilla game files. So you could just delete what you screwed up, and verifying cache will install what you need (again, vanilla files only). Go to steam, right click on Skyrim, go to properties then game files and there you'll see verify integity of game files. Also, as far as cleaning files go (e.g. "update.esm"), STEPt is a good guide for that. Google "Skyrim STEP project" and you'll find it./
IsharaMeradin
You didn't really mess up. If you look at that folder (Mod Organizer > Mods > NAME_OF_MOD_IN_MO) in Windows Explorer you should see your cleaned game ESM files. You can simply rename the folder from whatever you have to something else more descriptive. Then as long as its priority is low (i.e. lowest number possible) and set active in MO, you'll be playing with the cleaned ESM files. If you rename while MO is open, right click in the mod list and select refresh. If you rename while MO is closed, it'll recognize the change when next it opens. Akayds
I have the same issue i followed exactly the tutorial to how to clean files (update.esm) did everything they said up to where i created a mod like OP. When i did that and named it tes5edit backup automatically my update.esm disappeared from the right panel all my mods went into missing master alert and the tes5edit backup mod climbed automatically on top of the left panel with marked as Flagged. Also triangle giving me missing masters error ofc. So it basically deleted update.esm and i can't do anything about it so i am reinstalling skyrim now... the tutorial did not mention anything about this or warning which is a shame cause this could easily happen to anyone. snelss0
If you want a good tutorial on how to use MO, watch Gopher's series.
