iamdoctortran
Is it possible for a modder to completely remove the land around Cyrodiil and replace it by open water (like was in Morrowind)? I think its lame that modded landmasses are only accessible through Oblivion-style gates; it really breaks the immersion. Ther isnt enough water in Oblivion and i feel like a potentially cool gameplay and modder mechanic is wasted. P.S. I'm no modder so I haven't got the best idea of what is possible. martine94
That would be unrealistic , Cyrodiil is 50 % surrounded by other parts of tamriel. But , I like the idea and maybie you could but a lot of islands and town out at the sea (Theres a big space around anvil.

Vagrant0
If you're wanting more islands and such, there isn't enough area around anvil since there are several mods which already make use of it. Really, the only reasonable alternative would be a seperate worldspace. It doesn't require use of oblivion style gates or instant portals, someone could add a ship which you have to board to get to a new set of islands, but that can be a bit complicated, and takes longer for the player to go from one place to another. You really can't build around the current Tamriel worldspace since worldspaces are limited to 4 quads (each quad 99x99 cells). While there is a large chunk of area south of skingrad, that is part of another provence, and wouldn't make any sense being a large sea.

A Quest with a geological cataclysm might be able to explain sunken lands and islands south of Skingrad. The Khajitii would be upset, that their homeland is now Water World ( they don't like water? ) but at least traveling to that area wouldn't require a teleport gate.:)
