puttyputty
i don't know if this is supposed to go in here or technical but since it contained spoilers i figured here was a safe bet... i've come across the same problem twice now, the first time being with the dragon(when he's chasing you and you have to cross the bridge) wherein the enemy script moves faster than mine(even with QTE's turned off the dragon would still kill me) now i fixed it that time by turning every performance option down to minimum just for that sequence... this time however that isn't working... when i enter the knife throwing contest the only subtitles/voice i get are the ones saying "ves wins".... and even if i try to throw a knife it doesn't throw until after that is said... has anyone else encountered this problem and if so have you found a way around it?... i would really like to win that contest but whatever this glitch is is making it impossible... I haven`t been able to win this one either..i did make and hit the map but after that it was something else and you don`t have enough time to find what it is before he says ves wins...maybe a person isn`t supposed to win .But as for your problem with the no dialog or subtitles...i haven`t encountered that Edited June 8, 2011 by tommy5761
Raye
I've won it, but it took me losing, and then reloading, taking a good solid look at that half of the room making a mental note of the location of anything they could conceivably tell me to throw at, then trying again... But I don't think that's related to what the OP is saying. I've never run into unresponsive controls like that with this part (though did run into it once with the dragon on the battlements), so I'd think this should go into technical support. kaitouconan
It took me three times to win this lol !
swordsman5
Could it be something to do with the individual PC specs? One machine being more responsive than another? If it takes longer for a particular machine to process the clicks/mouse movement yet the game is still running in it's own time frame then that might account for one person completing this with ease and another having difficulty. I have to wonder if you are on to something with this. I am using a wired keyboard and a wireless mouse. Sometimes I can't get the game to respond to the mouse, but I can understand that being wireless, but the keyboard is wired. Many times I have had to keep hitting the 'Q' key or the 'R' key to throw down a spell or toss a bomb and it usually happens after the fact. I end up rolling out of the way till I get the commands to work. I tried different keyboards and a wired mouse and there were no changes. I can't tell you how many times I died fighting the Kayran because I could not drop a spell fast enough. :wallbash: I'm playing round two with a new game and I am at that point of going after the Kayran again....this outa be fun. I just built a new system and it isn't slow by any means, so I wonder if it is an game issue? swordsman5
Could be your rig is too good! The game action is running faster than it can process the commands from the keyboard, is it possible to reduce the number of cores used to play the game? I'm using a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 and haven't found any problems such as you describe.
utherix
Um, the knife throwing game is actually playable? For me, it popped up for about 2-3 seconds asking me to throw a knife and then went back into the cutscene and never mentioned knife throwing again the whole game. I didn't know what just happened. utherix
I do have the input problems some of you speak of, but only during combat. And its more of the game bugging out and not accepting input than input lag.
