Help on determining the worth of this computer?

Recommended Posts

Found this on ebay, the seller has a ton of positive feedback and he sells a lot of computers he puts together. I just wanted to know how good it is, and if y'all think it'd have a good chance of being able to handle Skyrim better than the 360 (360 is all I have at the moment).

Here are the specs: The cost of this one is $380. I imagine I may have to replace the video card, never heard of PCI-Express.

PROCESSOR Intel Dual Core E5800 3.2GHz Processor

COOLING FAN INTEL STANDARD PROCESSOR COOLING FAN

MOTHERBOARD LGA775 MOTHERBOARD

RAM 8GB DDR-3 1333MHZ PC-10600

SATA II HARD DRIVE 1000GB SATA2 7200rpm 32MB CACHE

DVD-RW DRIVE 22X DVD-RW DUAL LAYER W/LIGHTSCRIBE

PCI-EXPRESS VIDEO CARD HD PCI-Express Video Card ONBOARD

SOUND CARD REALTEK 6-CHANNEL DIGITAL SOUND ONBOARD

NETWORK CARD REALTEK 10/100/1000 GIGABIT ETHERNET ONBOARD

COMPUTER CASE VOYAGER MID-TOWER ATX CASE

Here's another one of his that's $80 cheaper:

PROCESSOR Intel Dual Core E3400 2.6GHz Processor

COOLING FAN INTEL STANDARD PROCESSOR COOLING FAN

MOTHERBOARD LGA775 MOTHERBOARD

RAM 4GB DDR-3 1333MHZ PC-10600

SATA II HARD DRIVE 500GB SATA2 7200rpm 16MB CACHE

DVD-RW DRIVE 22X DVD-RW DUAL LAYER W/LIGHTSCRIBE

PCI-EXPRESS VIDEO CARD HD PCI-Express Video Card ONBOARD

SOUND CARD REALTEK 8-CHANNEL DIGITAL SOUND ONBOARD

NETWORK CARD REALTEK 10/100/1000 GIGABIT ETHERNET ONBOARD

COMPUTER CASE VOYAGER MID-TOWER ATX CASE

Should I just spend the extra $80 on the first one? Should I even buy it at all? Thank y'all so much! Your help is definitely appreciated.

you can build your own computer mad cheap.

PCs are better at almost any game then the console (and this is coming from a PS3 fanboy) they have more power and a bigger community AND mods!

especially for skyrim, if you wanna spend some cash on it, get a PC either build one or buy one cheap. itll run skyrim better and youll get mods. you gotta remember that consoles, you cant turn up the settings all the much, but you can with a PC, therefore with even a cheap PC youll get a better gaming experience

Are you on a desktop right now? The way I got confident enough to build my own PC was taking apart my old one. Which broke (before, not because I took it apart) so I didn't really care anymore. Well, I had changed the GPU and PSU already so I knew a little about the wires that are supposed to be attached but that's it.

And I also watched this. A few times (skipping the later parts)
