SenorSliceyHands
So certain texture replacer mods aren't working for me all of a sudden when they were just the day before. All of my other mods are fine and even mods that add brand new armors and weapons to the game are fine, but texture replacers for things like combat armor, the combat rifle and the pip-boy map aren't working. They just load up with the vanilla textures. I tried re-installing these mods, re-downloading them, re-installing the game, thoroughly checking my ini settings to make sure they were set up right AND manually installing said mods. Anybody got any ideas? :T Edited March 24, 2016 by SenorSliceyHands
Darkcerb
Having the same problem...for some reason no matter what I do the game wont open/use the textures folder in Data. All mods are "Working" every other folder is used except textures.ini is all setup and should be working...in fact nothing should of changed from yesterday I think when textures were working just fine. Very odd. Edited March 25, 2016 by Darkcerb
vixsyn
I'm having the same problem setting up the game for a friend. I did manage to work around it: Install the mods as you usually would, this makes sure any options you select for textures are installed in the NMM Virtual Install folder and also installs the esps. After you've done that, go to your Virtual Install folder and find all the mods you installed with textures. If you open their folders most of them will have other folders like meshes/textures etc. Copy these into the Data folder in your Fallout 4 install. It's a ballache and makes uninstalling mods a pain in the arse. The friend I'm installing for doesn't mess around with his setup so for him it'll be fine, but if you like to try out various things and pull them then make sure you note which files belonged to which mod, or keep a backup for reference. I've not found an actual "fix" and this problem seems to be relatively new, but hopefully someone of great brain and compassion will know something about it. I'm investigating but I am only of great compassion and very little brain!
Darkcerb
These are just the texture components of the mods, I've put them in the data folder manually.
Darkcerb
Ok I solved my problem, I was using mod organizer to launch the game straight from the .exe not the launcher...all was well until as I said very recently. But for some reason doing this causes the game to not load from the "Textures" folder and just loads default textures and every other mod folder.Reinstalled nexus mod manager, not in "Program files" because for some reason windows 7 is finicky about that and played through the launcher. It's now loading all the modded folders correctly.A really specific and weird problem solved. Edited March 26, 2016 by Darkcerb
SenorSliceyHands
You're using the Fallout launcher? I'm using F4SE, so unless I plan on never using any mods that use the script extender I don't think that's an option for me. Anyhow even that isn't working for me. Tried going through the launcher and also the exe to get the textures to work to no avail, even after manually installing the texture mods. How is the most basic way to install mods not working for me suddenly? Gah. Might be worth mentioning I'm on Windows 10 and I use Mod Organizer, not Nexus Mod Manager and that my Fallout 4 install is not in Program Files. --------------- Okay, so I think I got it working. After some more messing with my ini's I think inserting sInvalidationFile= got it working again. Perhaps I wasn't as thorough as I thought I was. PsychoDins
where exactly did you insert sInvalidationFile=. Im on windows 10 using nexus mod manager and Ive been having this issue for nearly a week now.
kirkonacid
I had this same issue before. Turns out I needed to run NMM as an administator.
Saizetsu
I had to manually install all textures and run F4SE through NMM to get some to work, no vanilla textures are missing though just mod textures or texture optimizations arent showing up and it looks like the sresourcesdatadirsfinal line seems to need strings interface and textures on it. still testing this but hopefully this is just an issue with automatron. bethesda has broken the mods at nearly every patch with FO4 so far.
