Nemesis282
Ok, now i hear that the new game will include all the old races and a couple of new one, (I hope dwarves, but it's a long shot).Anyway, I have always loved Argonians, my favorite race. They are fast, agile and deadly, plus the immunity to poison, resistance to Desease and water breathing are helpful.BUT, Skyrim looks like a game that is begging for some big nasty looking Ork, or Nord to scream Bo Sa Ka! or whater the shout it.I almost never play ranged such as bows. I do often try magic, but only cool effect ones.Melee is my thing I have always enjoying hacking things to peices. Im not all that sure what kind of melee to choose though. 2handed Axes look awesome, but so does 2 single handed weapons, or just a wep and a shield. The choices! Can I get some feedback on what you guys think you will be doing, might help my decision xD
micalov
The game has the 10 original normal races ( argonian, Khajiit, Breton, High Elf, Wood elf, Dark Elf, Nord, Redgaurd, Imperial, Orc ) There has not been any mention of new races. Also very very doubtful Dwarven will be playable even if there is some NPC in game because they were banished to the outer realms or something centuries ago. Vagrant0
I would imagine that since game mechanics have been reworked, some racial abilities and differences may have been revisited. In Oblivion poison immunity didn't mean much when it was rare that you would be hit with any sort of poison that would do anything of consequence, and was generally meaningless when you weren't that race since none of the NPCs had their racial powers. Still have 5 months till the game is released... Honestly, why worry about "what race to choose" at this point in time?
jancina25
As Vagrant said, don't worry about that yet, when you actually buy the game, start, make a character, and then decide it as you play it.
InuyashaFE
Hmmm.... 1. An argonian thief, wielding a dagger, bow and arrows. Possibly leading a dual life between the Thieve's Guild and The Dark Brotherhood. 2. A bearded nord barbarian, wielding a battle-axe, and using magic on the side. 3. A nord mage, with a huge white beard, lightning and fire magic in either hand, maybe a shield in one and magic in the other. criminalskum
yeah in oblivion i always played through with different races and differrent styles of playing. i never really got into magic since it wasnt visualy satisfying, but this time around the magic effects look awesome and i love how the fire can be channeled and magic traps can be set up. Personaly im going to play through multiple times as different characters and different races i know the game isnt out for another 5 months but its fun to fantasise. The first time i play through i will probaly be a battle mage type character but that could change dramaticly when i start playing.

DeadMansFist849
Depends what's available. I might be some kind of Dunmer or Altmer on my first go, and more than likely a caster. I want to dual-wield shock and fire spells (frost resistance is probably super high there) :D
TPA5
Shouldn't one play whatever character they enjoy/want to? I personally am always a Knight with a focus on Light Armor, and a definite Lawful Good. Every now and then I'll be a Chaotic Good and play the Battlemage class.
