lavenki
Imagine a time when calling on Vertibirds to ride.. you get to choose which seat you ride on even at the co-pilot's seat.. where there are two heavy weapon mounts on either side of the Vertibird.. and you get to choose what heavy weapon type you can mount to it.. imagine two (auto loading) MIRV Fat Mans raining down hell upon the enemies of the Brotherhood.. where if you had a companion with you they also mount the 2nd gun on the right or left or just sit in the co-pilots chair while you switch between left or right mounts.. where if while shooting, as the BoS is a military disciplined faction, Vertibird pilots do evasive or tactical maneuvers where they ask you if you want to dodge or circle around them when in combat.. and you can either choose to land the whole craft or tactically fall down or Parachute down to the target (if no PA is worn) in case of settlement attacks or just having a cool intro.. Yeah, people might say if all of this happened then the BoS would be an OP faction, but hear me out..Dumbass Vertibirds on patrol that crash and burn is not immersive, as the Prydwen can only carry a limited number of Vertibirds from the Capital Wastes, thus each Vertibird is important to the BoS's operation in the Commonwealth and they should try everything in their power to keep them safe from harm. Plus the fun factor in every ride would increase exponentially and of course provide the dual purpose of wrecking a whole raider-base or Super Mutant-ridden area from the safety of the air. Of course the scum of the commonwealth know this OP Vertibirds that's why missile launchers are going to be a common sight when using a Vertibird, so there is still a possibility of crashing.. Also imagine if you crash one, Elder Maxon would place you liable for a Vertibird loss and would give you quests to find salvageable Vertibird parts from pre-war wrecks all across the Commonwealth just to repair the one you wrecked. Also, imagine crafting a "Support Vertibird Signal Grenade" where you can call for a Vertibird Gunship Patrol as both reinforcements or make an immersive surprise patrol raid on an unsuspecting Super Mutant hovel or Raider Base. That would be aweeesooomme~ Also, i should squeeze in the option to customize your own personal Vertibird when you're promoted to Paladin, so you should have that teeny tiny bit of responsibility not to F up your Vertibird in combat. This is just my 2 cents all about Vertibirds and how they should be, i hope you had fun taking a read and thank you for reading!

We're almost there then. But of course, even if the Geck is out, all i said would probably take months or years to create in one whole massive mod. But, i'd love it to be a community thing, i can't mod for sh*t but i do think of new ideas and can probably participate in it's development. Let's just keep the fire burning. tomomi1922
Slightly off topic question: how feasible is a mounted MIRV or any area effect weapons? Because of friendly fire, I don't ever use anything that causes explosion. Because sometimes another friendly may be in the bunch. A settler, a provisioner, another BOS patrol, a caravan, etc.... And hurting them will turn the entire faction onto you (BOS) or at least your companion on you. How do you guys deal with this? I just don't use any AE weapon or have to be extra careful. Yeah, about your question, i typically land the Vertibird nearby or engaging E for land when there are friendlies on the AO. It's better for me because the hostiles are distracted and are easily vulnerable to getting sniped. A mounted MIRV, Fatman, Missile Launcher, Gat. Lasers or improved Miniguns, could in theory rid of clumped up hostiles even before you land in your specified AO especially if there are lots of hostiles lurking in or around the area and can also defend the Vertibird itself when just passing by a group of Raiders in PA, That's why my vision of the future includes Paradrops (if no PA is worn) and of course PA jump-offs. Explosions are dangerous when dealing with care in NOT hitting or engaging agro on friendlies. That's why Vertibirds have a land option and can be improved or badass-ified with either a patch or a mod. A targeting HUD might help being careful in those types of situations too.
