Supernoobian
Whenever I open the items portion of my pipboy, I receive a traditional windows error saying that Fallout: New Vegas has stopped working (along with the option to send an error report). This seems to be specific to my most recent saves, as older ones and new files are uneffected. I would rather not have to restart from scratch, since I have already put over 26 hours into this character (ok, not a lot of time, but it's still more than I want to redo). The only new mod I have installed recently is Project Nevada v2 (and all related sub-mods). The game still worked fine for some time afterwards, but this glitch started up when I entered the Brotherhood Bunker (Inventory screen worked just fine a few minutes earlier). However, I do have bad save habits, so I would have to restart. Any idea on how to fix this or a work-around? For reference, here is my current load order:Project Nevada - Core.esmProject Nevada - Equipment.esmFalloutNV.esmProject Nevada - Cyberware.espFalloutNVCheatTerminal.espGhost Variants Safe.espNVWillow.espProject Nevada - Rebalance.esp I used to run PerkEveryLevel.esp, but recently took it off as Project Nevada - Rebalance.esp gave the same option
Sunnie
I would start with putting FalloutNV.esm first in your load order, it must always be first or lots of bad things start happening.
T3hRogue
I would start with putting FalloutNV.esm first in your load order, it must always be first or lots of bad things start happening. I've done this, no avail. I still have the problem exactly the same, except at any location in Hidden Valley, not just Brotherhood Bunker entrance
Decayz
I think its not just your fallout.esm not being at the top. You see I had the same problem as you are having. Its your load order in general. Put PN rebalance right after the PN Cyberware. and Fallout.esm first. If this does not help message me and we'll keep trying from there
luthienanarion
It sounds to me like you have an item in your inventory with parameters or a script that the engine can't handle. Since you already have your current save, try uninstalling PN and loading that save, then saving again to a new file. Then reinstall PN and load the new save. You'll lose the stuff you got from PN (added equipment, possibly implants), but that may let you continue the game. If that doesn't work, you still have your old save to fall back on. chucksteel
I think the main cause of this problem is the unfocused overhauls that try to do to much in one mod. They do everything but nothing well. (I'm not knocking the mods or the mod authors, there mods are just not my cup of tea!) I don't use big overhauls, I've also had 12,14 hour gaming marathons with out any CTD's. Personally, I like to make selective changes to my game, weather it's my mods or, a random mod that adds weather changes, Guns or, armor. I don't need or, want someone else's idea of how the game should have ben, 500 new guns, armor, are not needed in my opinion. The reason for modding a game, should be to make the game the way you personally want it, weather that is adding some anime mod or, new pip boy! It's a single player game after all. (Not judging anyone, just saying that is ok! make your game the way you want it! not the way someone else thinks it should be!) My mod's are big but, there focused, clean! Many of the big overhauls seem to be unfocused, trying to do to much at one time and, can tend to be dirty because they merge random mods into them. (Also, they tend to suck up and, kill small mods that come out! The new mod author, says to themselves, " Well I can be apart of "What ever Overhaul", cool, this will be good for me! What they didn't see is that they were signing the "Death sentence" for there mod and they will no longer get the respect they deserve!" This is why DCInteriors, NVInteriors will never become a part of an overhaul or, compilation. little things like deleted ref's can end up causing the gamers big headaches, some modders don't seam to care or, understand this. I'm also running around 115 mods including RFCW's prototype and, I almost never get any CTD's. The only real issue I have is the autosave issue, where autosaves will break or, get corrupted but, this is a beth, Gamebrio issue, not a mod issue! Lastly I'm running modded "Morowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, FO3, FNV," on a funky system! It's a Mac, with a bootcamp version of Windows vista on a separate partition! If anyone should be having issues with beth games it should be me! http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/wallbash.gifI'm not! My only conclusion is that, I don't use overhauls. I choose my mods by personal taste, not some massive compilation.
