lukashisuphola
First important info on me and computer: I use SteamComputer is windows 7Game and FOMM long ago worked fine until I over modded it and had issues with mods conflicting or somethingAnd Now Have reinstalled game a few times and I know FOMM has updated a bit since and maker I guess ditched it to make a whole new version or something along with everything else that has changed.I run it as admistrator having same issue as many... I can't click any mods including nv.esm without it crashing saying something like: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Users\Lukas\AppData\Local\FalloutNV\plugins.txt' is denied. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options)... Read that plugins.txt might be on read-only, but not even sure what that is and where it is. I looked through every folder and did many searchs on it and many hours and everything, but to no avail beyond the fallout txt file that you can open with notepad and is located in c:\user\name\documents\mygames\falloutNV with the saves. It is not on read-only though so if it is the plugins thing than sadly it did not fix my prob. But I have been getting kinda confused as to what and where it is as said so easily could be wrong. After spending another couple hours researching and everything I found one that was called plugins in the location it suppose to be according to error (had to show all hidden folders and a couple other things I forget), but all it has typed in it is: Active Wasteland - Vanilla Replacements.esp which I do not even have (had it before among many other mods before reinstal(s)). So is it really called plugins.txt or is it just the fallout one that I mentioned? If it is the plugins did something go completly screwy with my reinstal or something (I have reinstalled the game a few times already). And if it is the fallout one than is it because it not located where it trying to read? I am thinking the error is it something to do with whatever it trying to read not existing at 'C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\FalloutNV\plugins.txt' and is at the documents or it trying to read the thing that is there that just has the 1 mod that I no longer have typed in it? *note: I posted things in 3 areas inclduing this new topic and the mod itself, so soon as any1 helps I will copy and paste what you say to all the areas and you will help a ton of people :) so please help. Edit: Forgot to mention in case it important that I Can Not turn on mods even with the game's basic thing though NV is always on.Did not mention since I read recent updates to game has caused it to happen to many though) Edited June 16, 2011 by lukashisuphola

lukashisuphola
ya ok thanks for confirming that is where it suppose to be as I alreayd pretty much knew...., but that does not help any as it isn't even the main issue lol, thanks any ways for saying what it already said and saying that it is indeed true to where it should be. Never mind. I don't think what I wrote is a solution to your issue. I've seen you looked at the other topics about this issue, so you probably already checked for it. lukashisuphola
Phantom Parot:I said I was not sure if what I read a few places about plugins.txt was the one that was there or if it was talking about the fallout.txt, but that was just an unsure thing and not a promblem. promblem is it not working and not sure as to why. Seanr55: not sure if yours was the one I read of the read-only or what it was if it was you could still help me easily. But if not ya been reading all over this forum and a bit on the mod place, with no luck which is why I posted a new 1 here along with the couple other areas. Any1:Please help, I will give you a cookie along with all the other people that you will help :). Really need to take care of this before I can do anything else which is obviously a Tonnnn soo I really don't want to lose my motivation to do all this again. Miss playing this to much, even my dad does. But as all NV players know the vanilla game sucks especily compared to modded any. Klipperken
Weird.Have you done a PC reinstall just now, or?It could be a problem in the register, conflicting with lingering install info of the previous version? Also, have you manually disabled the "write only" on that file?
lukashisuphola
Forgot to mention in case it important that I Can Not turn on mods even with the game's basic thing though NV is always on.Did not mention since I read recent updates to game has caused it to happen to many though) Ya Just recently reinstalled the game like 3 xs, but have had no issues brought up besides FOMM and not being able to turn on mods. Even played a quick like 15minutes just to see (though I know that not to long to test, figure if it was something bad though it would react to it quickly) Still Not even sure if I even have file or if file is messed up or what is the problem :( I assume the file is the one that is located where it suppose to be C:\Users\Lukas\AppData\Local\FalloutNV\plugins.txt' but again it only says the 1 mod I don't even have any more.. and just installed another mod just to see what would happen and it does not change anything though FOMM and game does see it, but obviously can't turn it on though. If it helps any the other 2 things that are in the folder are DLCList and NVDLClist both empty since I don't have any dlcs. Edit: should I maybe delete FalloutNV from my Local and than reinstal again or could this some how have adverse effects? (note: remember I use steam ver. if it important at all) Edited June 16, 2011 by lukashisuphola
Klipperken
I fear that this is indeed a REGISTER error. Are you capable of reinstalling the PC?I mean a FULL REINSTALL here... Just asking....
lukashisuphola
when you say PC you mean the game right?_? if you mean reboot the whole pc than no.... Game wise ya easily though I know I have to delete the files since it from steam and it doesn't actually delete anything.Which is why I asked would it be ok to delete the local FNV folder?---> I assume so as reinstalling I know brings back w/e is deleted, but as its a hidden file that I never have deleted before im confused if it is ok (kinda confused as to why it hidden in first place)?
