nwmGregM
Hello, So I can change the colour of my Pip Boy menu screen, and thats great, now when I hit Tab I have blue menus and not the default green. But when I come out of the menu and run around the world the Pip Boy screen on my characters arm is green. I'd like a mod that would make it blue. If anyone has the time / inclination to do that, that'd be awesome and I'd say thankyou 18 and a half times. Cheers Greg
chucksteel
You can do this for yourself with little trouble, extract the PDS file I've included to your desktop, (I have the correct file path set for you in the archive.) If you already don't have it get Gimp and the Gimp DDS plug-in or Photoshop and it's DDS plug-in Open the .PDS in Gimp or Photoshop Change the color of the image to what ever color you want to match you menu color choice. Save as .DDS select "Generate Mipmaps" Select compression "DTX 5" place the new .dds in this file path Fallout 4/data/textures/animobjects/pipboy done and done you now have a new texture color for you pipboyObviously you need to archive invalidate but I assume you've already done that if your using other mods. Pipboy Screen PSD Note: I set this up on my Mac so you will probably see some strange .DS_store files included in the archive you can trash them or just ignore them the are just files that Mac os uses to keep track of file paths in windows. nwmGregM
Ok first off. Awesome, thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthan. Secondly, with regards to compression I am getting the following options, am I correct in using BC3 / DXT5? http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i308/Tevez_2006/rsz_1dxt5.png Lastly it would seem that by changing that file the background colour of the pip-boy menu changes too. So at first I had a very very blue menu screen. If I changed the Pip-Boy colours in the game settings the background would stay blue but the details (map locations, text etc) would change to the new colour i.e. I could have red map markers on a blue background. I'm currently going through some trial and error to get a good set up.
chucksteel
yes just use BC3/DXT 5 for now it will work and I could go into a long drawn out explanation of why or which compression is best for your application but you seem new to this and what I suggested will just work for most texture edits and right now you don't need or want to know why. Once you get more comfortable with texture editing you can look into the best compression for a given situation. (Not trying to talk down in any way I just wanted you to try it and see it's not so hard even if you don't fully understand why it works) You can get Bethesda Archive extractor from the nexus and unpack all the textures there are a lot more Pip-boy textures you could edit but I would need to see a screen of the issue you are having to help and tell you what texture you may need to edit to get everything to match. the one I sent should have been the one for the pip-boy screen which is what I thought you wanted. I also like the default green pip-boy so the one texture replacer for it I do use just gives the screen cracks and scratches.
