Horse riding, and fighting.

Well, i see all these people all down about not being able to fight on horseback, well i had this idea, its pretty close to that.

 

Well, instead of an actual horse that you mount and ride on why not have a spell that sticks a horse under your bottom, not a real horse but it's just there for looks, the spell really just speeds you up to horse speed (any form of) and raises your view (and character) to horse height and when in 3rd person or when you look down its had the view that your on a horse, but because its just a spell you can still have weapons equipped and and be able to cast spells and so on, and you just cast the spell again to get off your horse, the only thing that would be a little strange would be when turning its wouldn't be like turning whilst on a horse so you and the horse would turn and face the same all the time, well, unless someone knows how to fix that :P

 

I really dont know how hard this would be, i'd imagine pretty hard, but i've seen some pretty nifty stuff that seems it would be hard but they've been done :/ and I dont know if anyones had any idea similar, but I had the idea and decided "well, might aswell say something"

Deadly Reflex managed to get mounted combat to work. You'll need to have your game patched to 1.2 or higher though, which I haven't. But I heard it works just fine.

Yeah, it looks good but I don't think I'm going to download it.

 

First of all, you see in third person while on horse, and I cant do anything in third person :P

Second of all it changes to much. I mean yeah, good that you can cut of people's heads and poo, but... I dont know, I just think that it's not Oblivion anymore, to much changed.

 

I know the idea of a modification is to change something, but imo, this is to much for me.

I think there are other horse combat mods being worked on. I know one has been finished already which allows you to cast spells while mounted. This one will have weapons.

oh, well thats cool, it was just an idea that popped into my head so its not like im upset or anything :)

 

and when did deadly reflexes add horse combat? interesting, but yeah i agree with Xersize its changes too much, but i might download it again to see if it tickles my fancy this time around :D

 

i mean, why wouldnt i like being able to chop heads off and ride horses at the same time? (well probably not, as your supposed to do the sideways power attack to cut it off)

Oh, yeah, by the way, I just realized something: I never use horses, I always fell that they're getting in my way. So, why am I thinking about this mod? :P
