Help me find the missing texture??

Hey, guys, thanks for taking the time.

I just reinstalled Oblivion, and I'm still re-collecting all the mods, add-ons, etc...

Now that I've made it out of the dungeon from jail, I've got all the land textures non-purple, finally. All except one.

As you exit the sewers from jail, to the right, on the top of the posts that hold up the pier, there's ropes around those posts. That's the one purple thing left. I've gone through everything, it seems.

Could anyone help me name the texture for those ropes? Please?

Thank you...

The model is path is 'meshes\architecture\ships\ropespool01.nif' and the rope texture path is 'textures\clutter\rope.dds' but I have no idea why it isn't showing up, being a vanilla resource.

edit. In case you don't know, these resources are packed in 'Oblivion - Meshes.bsa' and 'Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa'. They won't appear loose in your Oblivion/data folder unless you have a replacer mod installed or you have unpacked them.

Thank you, Wetblanket!!

I found that texture listed in ArchiveInvalidation.txt.

Should I put a semicolon in front of that line, or just delete it?

Delete the line and see what happens. Sometimes Archive Invalidation does not work correctly, it can cause symptom of missing texture/normal map even though there are the resources.

Thanks, Wetblanket.

I went ahead and deleted the lines; and that seemed to do the trick.

By the way, there's another awning that I found purple, also.

From the Refscope stuff I wrote, how did you know what texture was being used?

Thanks, Wetblanket...

LFact, actually :D

'000665C3' is the FormID of the object.

First I found the model name using the FormID in the Construction Set (I also use CSE) and then examined the model in NifSkope to find the particular texture.

edit. Kudos for wanting to learn to do this yourself - most wouldn't bother.
