trying to get a armour mod into New Vegas

I love the NCR, and how they're one of the only big-wig factions in the wasteland will not Immediately blow your head off if you eyeball them funny. And they won't skin you later on (without a reason,at least)

 

But their armour AND their business sense is lacking.

 

See they have a contract with the Gun-Runners right?

 

The Gun Runners sell all kinds of goodies, including mark 2 Combat Armour, Correct?

 

So why do the NCR Rank and File have to make do with patchwork leather armour, maybe with bits of string added on for protection?

 

The solution,Gentleman?! Give our boys the protection they need, and make them look good while doing it (publicity of course!)

 

Basically i'm making a variant of the mark 2 combat armour, NCR Assault armour but i don't know how to tweak it and place it in the game.

 

heres what i've done so far

 

 

- took it into Blender and retexture the chest armour and leg armour.

 

- saved it as a NIF file.

 

the part i'm not sure how to do is how to place in the game using geck.

On the GECK inteface, click on the 'items' and scroll down until you see the 'armor' line on the left dialog box, click that, and you'll get a list of armors.

 

- Replacer

You scroll down until you see the NCR armor

Double click it to bring up a dialog box

On the right, you will see 2 captions that say 'male' and 'female' (they are the models for whichever gender. Click edit under the 'Biped Model' area, and a dialog box will open up

Click on 'edit' under the 'Model File Name' label

locate your NIF file and double click it/ click it and press okay

then click OK

[Finished]

 

- Non-Replacer

just do exactly what the replacer one does (^^) but

on the armor dialog box, look to the left and you'll see 'ID'. Change the text in the textbox to anything you like (eg MyArmor01) just make sure it is unique

then click OK

[Finished]

- Adding it into the Game

On the bottom right dialog box, you'll have a number/list of locations

double click the location that you want to put the armor in, and on the top right dialog box you'll see the landscape form up

from the left dialog box, you click and drag the name/ID of your armor into the top right dialog box

click and drag the armor to position it into your prefered place in the fallout world

that's why the crimson caravan is also part of the NCR ;)

But jokes aside, i completely agree with the fact that the NCR's equiment is a bit "Meh".

Plus: This would make battles caused by 'Warzones - Misanthropy pure' a lot more interesting :rolleyes:

 

As for help with the creation: afraid im of no use to you :(
