wizardmirth
I had to reinstall vista recently and reinstall all my programs. Before I had OBSE 18b and the CS latest version. Now I have OBSE 20 and the CS v1.2.404 and whenever I try to edit or add topic text the CS crashes. I did not install Oblivion or the CS to the default folder path but have it on a partitioned drive that does not have the OS on it. I also have all the DLCs including KOTN and SI and have all the latest UOPs patches installed now whereas I did not before. Everything else seems to work fine so far including running oblivion with mods. Does anyone know what might be the problem with the CS here? Reinstalling it did not work. rinoaff33
The construction set seems to hate Windows Vista/7. I have the same issue (always crashes when using certain panels, like the quest ones). Try running it in compatibility mode (set to Windows XP, turn off visual themes and desktop composition might help). Also, since you're using OBSE, it might help to set your construction set to link to obse_loader and then add -editor after the location in properties, so the CS can use OBSE scripts properly and not crash/refuse to save. Ex. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\obse_loader.exe" -editor Hope that helps in your case. Maybe someone with a definite solution could help out here, seeing as I have the same issue? Edited June 23, 2011 by rinoaff33
wizardmirth
I installed the CS Extender and this seemed to fix it plus has the added abilities. Nice. I'm a very happy modder. I would try that if you're still having issues.
