Oblivion lowers settings

Hello there!

 

I used to play the game with nearly maximal video settings, with no problems and smoothly. But suddenly, the game started to automatically lower some of my settings. These are actor fade, item fade, object fade, int. shadows, ext. shadows and blood splatters. The game would run smoothly with these turned high, but the game simply keeps lowering them, when I set them higher.

Also, every time I try to exit the game, it crashes.

Help would be appreciated.

Streamline will automaticaly adjust the setting on the fly to increase performance, also crashing on exit is commen, and someone most of us except, best to use something like fast exit, stop the actual crash when leaving the game so your settings dont reset each time.

Thanks for your reply, I will check the options in Streamline, and see if I can turn this off. And also thanks for the tip with fast exit.

Just turn off Streamsight in the Streamline ini. Or from the in-game menu (ctrl-home).

Unfortunately when you either remove streamline or turn off streamsight, you will be stuck with the last values for those Settings that it changes until you change them manually.

 

My preferred solution, Keep Streamline, disable streamsight. Use the information from http://www.tweakguides.com/ to adjust your settings.
