Double posting when adding a comment...

The last few times I have posted a comment on some of my friends profiles, it has double-posted---even though I have only hit the post button once. This has happened for every post for the last 4 times I have posted. Is there a setting I need to change or...?????

Seems to happen in IE9. Doesn't happen in Safari.

Don't mean to sound like a dummy, but what is IE9 and Safari?. I have made tons of comment posts before with no double posts. Nothing else double posts like this stuff in the forums, etc. I just upgraded to the new windows explorer---8 is it? Maybe that has something to do with it?

IE9 is Internet Explorer 9 by Microsoft.

Safari is an internet browser made by Apple

I use Google Chrome... by Google :)

I have about 5 internet browsers installed and always do thorough testing when I run into difficulties to determine whether its user error or website :)

Double posting usually happens when you click the button more than once, the fact that you have pressed it only once leads me to believe that IE has sent off the message to the nexus servers... but timed out and sent it again. The nexus must have received it twice. Seems to me like its a new feature in IE. :)

Thanks for the info...since I just upgraded to IE9 that is probably the reason. I've looked thru the tools section of the browser, but can't see anything in the settings, etc....any idea where I need to be looking to see if it is the browser doing it? I am definitely just 1-clicking.

I haven't updated to IE9 sorry so I'm not sure where you could look.

I recommend installing Google Chrome and seeing whether or not it is your browser, if not then I'm not sure what it is and you can just remove google chrome off your computer :)

This site works best with Mozilla Firefox.

I avoid Internet Explorer like it was the plaque...quite frankly, it is since so much filth can get onto your computer when browsing with it. I even have a rule in the firewall to specifically block IE from connecting to the Internet unless I give it explicit permission.

No need to take our word on how well Firefox or Chrome works, try it yourself. You don't even need to "install" either one. You can get "portable" versions that can be run from from anywhere on any PC with no need to install.

Firefox portable

Chrome portable

For extra security measures, I also use a plugin called "NoScript" which does not allow web sites to execute potentially malicious code and I can temporarily allow scripts to be run or if I trust the site, like the Nexus, I tell it to always allow scripts to be run on this one site.

Another nice plugin that helps keep me safe while browsing is called "WOT" which stands for Web of Trust.

What really threw me for a loop, I just left the profile of a new Nexus friend who has double avatars for his friends listed. Didn't seem to happen for the first friends he added, but the last 10 or so are actually double displayed. Crazy!

I'm bad, still using IE8, but I'm so strapped with other protection programs, I've (thank God & knock on wood) never had many problems. None major that I can remember. But my daughter uses Firefox religiously. I do know you want to avoid IE9 at all costs!

Or maybe, not so much does it "do the job". Or at least your browser doesn't.

BTW: Just added a comment to the OP's profile using IE9, no double-post. I don't think this is anything tied to a specific browser, actually. I think it's a combination of internet connectivity factors and response times at both ends.
