Dialogue problems

Can someone please tell me which files in the game directory affect the dialogues?

I have a weird problem and I suspect that mods aren't at fault, because I've tried removing them and the problem persists. Regardless, with the previous playthrough all those mods were there and the problem didn't appear then. It does now, and I have no idea whatsoever about what may be the cause. It seems that my game is corrupted somehow, even though I already tried uninstalling it completely and then installing it from scratch.

Namely, some of the dialogues in the game are unwinding on their own. Even though I have conversation subtitles turned on, they don't appear, and neither do my dialogue choices. The problematic NPCs (for now) are Danal in Lothering, Bodahn (exclusively at camp) and Kester the boatman (Circle Tower). My character is talking to them on his own, making dialogue choices which I'm not even able to see, and the worst is Danal, because my character persists in asking him about the news and the dialogue never ends, making it necessary to exit the game forcibly.

My current playthrough is human Mage origin. I even suspected that this origin by itself carries a bug, because this is the first time that I'm playing as a mage. Truthfully, I don't know anymore. This bug is maddening.

Please, someone, HELP.

Update:

I thought that this is also worth mentioning... Any information might prove useful, right?

Anyway, at the time that this problem had occurred, at the beginning of the game (right before leaving Lothering), I had installed The WInter Forge. It worked well and I had fun tinkering around with changing and upgrading my equipment. Bodahn acted normally at camp.

Then I installed the Toolset. I used it only for creating head morphs and mops for CC. When I was satisfied with how my companions and my hero looked, I continued the game and left the camp. Since I had ZevranASAP installed at the time, I encountered Zevran, and then I went to Mage Tower. I clicked on Kester and that's the first time when the bugged dialouge occurred. I returned to camp and realized that Bodahn is acting the same, where the dialogue led to him immediately opening his store. I couldn't talk to him normally at all.

First I tried uninstalling various mods. Eventually, I uninstalled The Winter Forge (properly). The problem remained, so I made a backup of my override folder and re-installed the game. The problem still remained.

Eventually I uninstalled the Toolset. It was a hassle, but I removed it completely. Then I uninstalled the game completely and installed it from scratch, bringing back all the mods that I previously used (which worked just fine in my previous playthroughs). I started the Mage origin story anew, reached Lothering, clicked on Danal in the tavern...and experienced the bugged dialogue again.

I saw a post here about uninstalling the Toolset and realized that I still have Microsoft SQL server installed (which apparently isn't of any use to me at this point), so I uninstalled it as well. I have no idea if it's connected to the game at all without the Toolset involved, but I'm willing to try anything. I had it removed, but still nothing changed.

The only thing left for me to do is to try the playthrough with a different origin. So far I played the Dalish elf, City elf and human Noble and they all worked impeccably with all my favorite mods. Like I said, this is the first time I'm doing the Mage origin and I was really excited about it... Not so much anymore.

If there is anything that I need to add or clarify in order for someone to help me, ask and I shall answer promptly. I really can't continue my game like this, so your help is needed rather urgently.

Ok I found the file because I had to the same problem its a file called SinglePlayer_en-us.tlk. It was in the Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/modules/Single Player/overide/toolsetexport folder. (i dont know how that file goy there) I removed that file and it was fixed. I put the file back in the folder and the problem came back, I removed it and the problem was gone. So that is the file that causes those particular NPCS for the dialog options to disappear and it auto plays. Hope it works you guys because I searched the internet and found no answers. I am going to copy and paste to the other sites where people asked this question and got no solutions.

Have you used the toolset at all?

Loose mystery files in override/toolsetexport (or in the override root) are usually the byproduct of exporting (or even just opening) certain types of files in the toolset... and having those unwanted files in override can result in some pretty weird, game-breaking bugs and glitches.
