KazFoxsen
I'm trying to arm my vendor, but I'm not sure how to prevent her personal inventory from popping up in the sell menu. I know I could just untick the boxes to sell weapons/ammo, but I want her to be able to buy and resell whatever the player gives. I've tried giving her a unique non-playable weapon, but it seems unnecessary since don't other vendors sell weapons and draw weapons in a fight too? If I give her ammo to shoot and don't make a special unplayable kind, it will also show up in the sell menu. She won't shoot either, despite being assigned a ranged combat style. How does the game make it work for the other NPCs?
XxLunaMothxX
When you sell your personal things to a vender, you are adding your items to their inventory. The easiest way to prevent them from "selling" it is to not sell it to them at all. After a certain period of time (I think it's 72 game hours) their inventory will respawn and everything you sold to them or bought will be reset to how it was 3 days ago... thats kind of how the inventory thing works... if that makes any sense... So I'm thinking the answer of that being possible is relatively close to the borderlines of no...
TheTalkieToaster
Vendors don't sell items in cell that they can use due to faction membership but that don't belong to them, so you could try changing the ownership of his inventory gear you don't want sold to a personal faction only he's in. That worked for the items lying around, but when I did it to the loot in her inventory, it still showed up for sale. :(
drakeelvin
I gave my vendor a non-playable version of his pistol that was modified to use companion ammo. I noticed with Chet however that he equips his 357 magnum and it doesn't show up for sale. I'm not sure, but I think it is his AI package (GSChetStoreSandbox) the checkbox "Weapons Unequiped" is cleared so he'll equip his best weapon, which probably is what prevents him from selling it. Chet's AI Package for sleep also has that checkbox cleared. I've noticed that some AI packages have it checked so maybe its a simple matter of creating your own AI package by copying a game default one, and just clearing that flag if it is set on the default package. Give it a try. EDIT: p.s. I tried this myself, in Chet's case it is the AI package. When his 357 is equiped it is not for sale. When I forced him to unequip it through the AI package then he had it for sale. Edited June 24, 2011 by drakeelvin
