iqwan
Hi everyone. I am super new to modding and wanted to try out modding fallout 4 for the first time. I tried out the full dialogue interface mod and loved it. I have a few questions though. - Some mods are kind of similar such as the texture optimization, the vivid landscape or the enhanced wasteland preset. If these mods are installed all at once would they cancel out one another or would it somehow work together? I'm not too sure how these work together so please feel free to explain :) - If I somehow screw up would to the point where the game doesn't function the way it should be, would re-installing the game make it work again? - What should I be mindful of when modding the game? Especially those common mistakes newer modders do. That's all for now. Hopefully my modding adventures go smoothly. Thanks :)
Mavkiel
Ok, will try answer your questions! 1. Texture mods can be tricky, if its a loose file, you can specify which files are overwritten (you will be prompted about overwriting files if this is the case). If its all bundled into an esp/esm then the last one loaded is what you get. Edit: There are of course esp files that use loose files, in which case, whichever files get overwritten are the ones that will get used. 2. Depends on the mod. For texture mods you would be fine for simply uninstalling and reloading the save. For mods that have esp/esm it really depends on what they are doing. For example, if a mod has a script firing in the background, yanking that mod out could bug your character and saved game. 3. Read the readme also take a gander at the comment section of the mods you install. If a bunch of folks are complaining about x mod breaking their game, or behaving oddly, keep that in mind. Here's a screenshot of what I'll be starting off with. I just want to know if there's anything else I should look out for esp. with these mods. If there is anything I need to remove or something. Just want a "go ahead" from an experienced modder. Thanks  Edited April 3, 2016 by iqwan
Mavkiel
From what I understand on how armor/weapon smith mods operate is to get around the current keyword cap. The construction kit is going to be released this month, if it solves that issue those mods might not be needed. *shrugs* Its the only thing I'd keep an eye on. Since the kit is supposed to get released this month. (Before the next dlc)

Made me feel more confident on doing this :)
mm137
Homemaker makes SSeX redundant. You should get rid of SSex as it is unsupported and obsolete. The rest of your load looks good.
