Help, please. Loaded a save and mods were "gone," now crashes!

If someone could help me I would be very appreciative. I started the game (a few hours after playing it last), and when I tried to load my last save, a message came up saying it depended on mods that were no longer available, and listed .esp files. And esm's, I think. There were a few, but also a "..." showing there were more. I reinstalled the first mods listed, and sure enough the same thing happened and there were more.

Maybe I shouldn't have reacted so quickly, but I went through and reinstalled all my mods. I have a lot. And now when I try to load any save, it crashes to desktop, with the message Fallout has stopped working.

What happened?? Any ideas?

One thing to try is to go to "This PC>Documents>My Games" and right click on Fallout 4 and choose "properties". On the "General" page, uncheck the box for "Read-Only" and "YES" for all of the files/folders in that game folder.

Make sure all mods are listed in the plugins.txt. It's located at c:\users\yourname\AppData\Fallout4\plugins.txt; this file contains a list of all mods that you currently have installed. I had to make my plugins.txt file read-only. Just disabling them and re-enabling them in nexus wil make the plugins.txt file complete. But they may disappear again. But, if you have a huge list like I do, I just copy the DLClist into the plugins list. If I recall you don't copy the Robots.esm to the new list. Make the file Read-only when done. Then you load up the current save game. If issues persist, you may have to go back a few saves, to fix the error.

Do note If you do make the plugins text file Read-only, it cannot be changed by Nexus, therefore not completely installed. Uncheck it when installing another mod.

I also saw that if you opted-in the Survival Beta, Mod functionality is disabled and cannot be useed.

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. First thing I did was make sure I was not open to the beta, which I wasn't. Then I went back and looked at the plugins.ini as suggested, and I think it had gotten over-written. I reinstalled the mods, and went back a few saves, and got the game to run again, to my great relief. But I was still getting weird glitches, missing objects and ctd's. Ultimately I downloaded LOOT and based on it's results, went through and reordered my esp's. I got it to run, but had an oddball crash. I figured out it was when I went to one weapon (from a mod) in my inventory, so I reloaded that mod. S

So far, things seem to be working. Fingers crossed. Also I learned quite a bit about these processes (I think).

I must say I am nervous to update the game or to even buy the DLC at this point... I am so happy with the progress I've made, the kit I have, and the home I've built in game, I don't want to lose it again!!

Again, thank both of you for your help, I do really really appreciate it.
