Dahveed
EDIT: Resolved! Thanks kevkiev! here is the fix: Thanks Drake, yeah for sure it's not a Nexus problem. Anyways, here's the solution that fixed it for me (from the "I can't believe I'm such a dummy and couldn't find this answer before" dept.) Actually, I'm not even sure step 1 is necessary but, this is what I did: 1. With MO closed, go to where MO is installed, find the webcache folder and delete the files in there; and 2. Start MO, right click any mod in the left hand pane, click "All Mods" then "check all for update" Aaaand... voila. After a few seconds "Not Logged In" should be replaced by your Nexus user name. Mods DL'd via MO are now part of your dowload history. Every time, without exception, I get a popup message telling me "You have not downloaded this mod so you cannot endorse it." This is regardless of how many times I DL a mod, or how long I wait. there are some mods I have downloaded multiple times, some of them literally weeks ago, and no matter what I cannot EVER endorse anything. This is a real bummer, especially for older games like Oblivion where each and every endorsement for new files are very precious to encourage people to continue updating their mod. Can anyone help me with this? Edited April 8, 2016 by Dahveed
Thandal
Were you logged-in when you downloaded the mods in question?
Dahveed
@Thandal yes, I am permanently logged in to Nexus (automatically when I arrive), I haven't actually had to "log in" in years.
kevkiev
@Thandal yes, I am permanently logged in to Nexus (automatically when I arrive), I haven't actually had to "log in" in years. Are you logged in via your mod manager though? (I've been having a similar problem) I automatically log into Nexus through the "remember me" thing too, but that doesn't matter for anything but manual downloading. My Mod Organizer reads "not logged in" in the top left corner and the result is that mods downloaded via MO aren't counted in my Nexus download history. I can't seem to figure out how to get it to log into nexus, although I have the settings configured for it to do so (checked and rechecked that it has my new password). If I really like a mod, I'll DL it again manually just so I can endorse it. I haven't been DL'g many mods lately, so it's not a huge hassle, but still.... Perhaps a bigger issue is that I can't drag & drop a preferred server since, afaik, that section is only populated by servers when Nexus "knows" that MO is downloading something. Dahveed
I'll try "logging in" to MO and see if that changes anything. Thanks for the advice kevkiev!
kevkiev
Afaik, it's done by configuring the settings - click on the wrench/screwdriver icon at the top of the MO toolbar and go to the Nexus tab. Hopefully it'll work better for you than it does for me
Dahveed
@kevkiev I already verified this, I am indeed logged in (according to this section anyway), but at the top of MO it still says "(not logged in)"
kevkiev
Damn, that's exactly what's happening with me. Logged into Nexus as a user, but Mod Organizer itself can't log in despite having the settings properly configured. I've googled the heck out of this, but haven't been able to find a fix that works. Until a solution is found, you could always use the workaround I mentioned above, i.e. if you want to endorse a mod you like, download it again manually. It'll then at least show up in your Nexus download history and you can endorse. You can always just delete the manually downloaded files right afterwards. I'm going to keep trying to figure this out, and will certainly post here if I find something.
DrakeTheDragon
Can't say I know anything much about MO at all, but I recall similar issues popping up time and again in the past, and what was usually suggested was to make sure the "NMM version" that's setup somewhere inside MO matches the current Nexus one. So, did you check this setting as well already? Other than that, did you already contact the MO authors about this? It seems to be an MO issue more than anything to do with Nexus after all.
