zerther
Hi pros. Maybe you can help. I've used blender to model my own sword, and I UV mapped it no problem. The uv map shows fine if I look at it through the 3d view window, but after I export it into a nif file, and load it up into the the oblivion construction set, it looks purple for some reason. Anyone know what the deal is?
ub3rman123
Did you include a normal map for the sword? Is it also assigned to the right slot (As in, one-handed or two-handed)?

The sword shows up in the game; I can pick it up and use it fine, it's just all purple and textureless =/ Edited June 22, 2011 by zerther
ub3rman123
The Normal map is a special texture for the thing that tells the game how to light the texture. You can make a basic normal map by running GIMP's Normal Map filter over the texture, then some tweaking to make lighting look right. When that's done, name the new normal map the same as your sword's texture, but include _n at the end, as in swordtexture_n.dds.
