MaularukoTheBarbarian Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 why is it all by itself? nothing matches it. there are no studded boots, gauntlets, helmet, nothing. seeing as how Bethesda put the armor in there along with the armor perks requiring a full set, one would think they would make a whole set called studded. and i'm also surprised no one has made a matching set for it yet.
Lachdonin Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Studding more supple things like boots and gloves would be uncomfortable, and a studded leather helm just sounds painful. I like to think the people of Skyrim realise just how stupid Studded Leather is, and what we see in-game are just remnants of an attempt to make cheaper armour that has since been abandoned because it's basically garbage.

Loli just like things to make sense. if you put a piece of armor in a game that has a perk that requires a whole set, that piece of armor shouldn't stand alone.
ElioraArin Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 If you have the Unofficial patches or USLEEP you can wear it with hide boots, bracers & helmet to get the matching set bonus (if you have the perk). At least I think it is hide - I have tweaked it to my own taste in the Creation Kit & can wear it with either fur or scaled.
