  1. Hi Ben, I'm probably too late but just in case this is really easy to do! First you will need a suitable model for your tree - I really like the apple trees from ChickenDownUnders "Harvestables" resource at www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15108 for existing fruit trees in house mods as they are nice & big. If you follow my edited "tutorial" post you will not need to add Hearthfire as a master & you will only need to follow the steps up until editing the plant formlists (which you will not need to do). To make trees for vanilla apples ONLY follow the steps that instruct you on how to: * Copy & adapt a BYOHHouseFood for the fruit that you will harvest from the tree. * Copy & adapt a BYOHHouseFlora for the new tree that you want to add to the game. * Adapt script properties in BYOHHouseFood. If you were making a pre-existing plant that grows a custom food you would obviously also need to follow the steps to copy & adapt a vanilla food, but to harvest apples it makes more sense to skip this step & just use the vanilla ones. Also, if you are ever making pre-existing plants & are going to use vanilla models instead of custom ones be aware that the BYOHHouseFlora plants tend to be smaller to fit in planters, if you want the model of the plant you are copying to be bigger use the TreeFlora version instead. Once this is done you can start placing your tree in the world. When you test in game you should be able to walk up to the trees you have placed & harvest them. The vanilla respawn rate for plants that aren't grown in Hearthfire plots is quite long, so I would make the harvest amount quite high, especially for a tree, so it is more realistic than the vanilla one item per harvest! As you don't need to adapt the form lists your mod will still be compatible with mods that add new harvestable plants.
  2. Oh thank you, I will take a look at the backup folder. I haven't tried TES5 as I've only ever used it to clean, never to mod. But I will take a look & see if I can get into it that way.
  3. Thanks. After re downloading everything it just seems to be the one esp the CK originally crashed on that I can no longer load, I have no idea what would have caused it but I'm extremely annoyed with myself for not making back up copies every now & then - I don't have a lot of time to mod anymore but I had been working on it for quite some time whenever I could & now I've lost everything, I can't even open it with a new file active to copy as much as possible into the new esp :(
  4. So when re entering the info in my vanilla ini I forgot the s in Hearthfires, with that fixed I no longer get the error message but am still crashing during load just like before I reinstalled everything ... OH MY GOD!
  5. So I was working away on a mod & the CK crashed - no surprises there! But when I went to reload the CK crashed while initializing, & continued to do so with every attempt. I have tried restoring my Skyrim folder to a vanilla state, reinstalled the CK, reinstalled Mod Organizer - but now when I try to load a mod in the CK I get a message saying MASTERFILE: LOCALIZATION: Zero entries or empty block size read from strings file STRINGS/Hearthfires_ENGLISH.STRINGS.Strings will be missing - & it crashes. Does anyone know what is going on or how to fix it? It was working just fine when this suddenly happened out of nowhere! Edit: All the info I have found so far seems to point to the ini file allowing mulitiple files, loads & adding in the DLCs - but obviously I had already done that or I wouldn't have been able to use the CK for the last few years! This just randomly happened out of nowhere.
  6. I have made baths with the vanilla dwemer stone troughs & have filled them with water by resizing pond water to fit inside at the required depth. I have found that other waters will fill the entire room & not the bath, to use them you need to create a bathing "pit" by using walls & floor to make steps into a lower level of the room (the excess wall & floor in the void will not be visible in game) - this way you can fill the pit with water rather than the whole room. Both of these methods are also compatible with "Bathing in Skyrim". There may be other options, but I spent a REALLY long time experimenting & found these to be the easiest & most attractive ways to create baths in Skyrim.
  7. Skybrom, have you tried a mod that "protects" horses so that only your character can kill them? I think both Convenient Horses & Immersive Horses have that option, as well as an option to stop them from jumping into your battles. It also means that you won't ever again go into a ruin & come out with awesome loot that you don't want to lose, just to find that at some point yet another of your horses had been slaughtered by some beasty behind your back :/
  8. Have you tried "Equipping Overhaul" www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49784 ? Although I plan to use it I haven't played with it yet, but the description states that you can configure settings yourself in the MCM - maybe it can provide you with what you are looking for.
  9. Have you installed a mod for a new race by any chance? this happened to me after installing a modded player race & the problem remained even after I uninstalled it - there was however a fix/patch for it that continued to work when I stopped using the problem mod.
  10. I think this is the one that I had in mind www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22791
  11. I don't remember what they are called as I prefer to just mod my own player home, but there are some mods that allow you to build then decorate your own home - you could just build & then leave it empty? The one I am thinking of could be perfect as it lets you decide the style of house you build, but it doesn't have a name like "Build Your Own Home" - maybe it will sound familiar to someone else who could point you in the right direction?
  12. Don't assume that because a mod is ticked it will be included in the bashed patch - I have found that a mod will not be included unless it is tagged. If it isn't you can tag it yourself by right clicking in the relevant box & then selecting the appropriate tags (for example Relev adds items that the mod introduces to levelled lists & Delev will remove items that the mod has taken out of levelled lists).
  13. You could also take a look at "Immersive Horses" www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64067 which not only has a whistle feature but a lot of additional features that make horses much more useful & realistic
  14. My guess is that you have probably already found these but off the top of my head "Lustmord Vampire Armor" www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25852 & "Gwelda Armor Pack" www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56998 both are very nice vampire style armours that I have noticed in my own searches - despite not being my thing they have caught my eye many times when I have been looking for something that is! Even if the total outfit isn't what you are after maybe you will find some accessories that will work for you - for example I'm pretty sure one of them has a black & red cape with a matching hood (I actually incorporated them into a personal armour compilation for myself, & I think they were from the Lustmord mod).
  15. If it is for personal use you could just adapt the original esp, it is extremely easy to change recipes yourself: * In the object window open Items then click on Constructible Items * In the filter box type in a keyword to help you find the recipes added by the mod (if you aren't sure click on the folder in the tool bar, in the list that opens click on the esp you are working on, & in the list that opens anything prefaced with COBJ is a recipe - many authors will also add their own preface on each of their mod added items so that you can type it into the filter box & easily find them) * In the object window double click on a mod added recipe that you want to change * In the required item list click once on the milk that you want to replace * Open the object menu next to it, type byohfoodm & select byohfoodmilk (this will change the original milk to the jug of milk) * Select ok & save * Repeat for each recipe
  16. It doesn't meet your exact requirements but you should take a look at "Disparity -- Player Character Class - Race & Gender Diversity" by kryptopyr www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63354 - it is highly customisable & is likely to be your best bet at getting something similar to what you want.
  17. I literally just discovered this mod while trying to help someone else find clothing from one of the images - I haven't personally tried it but it looks like it could potentially be as tasteful as possible, & it is here on Nexus www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69448
  18. I think it is a personally retextured version of the black leather bra from "Dungeon Explorer" by Eiries
  19. "Harvest Overhaul" www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16553 - if you include the creature option you will be able to choose whether humans drop flesh, hearts & skulls.
  20. Unless I want the player to be able to pick up the items that I am decorating with I make static versions - that way they are guaranteed to stay neatly in place. Just create a new static & select the mesh of the clutter item that you want to use in the model section, then place your new static in the cell instead.
  21. Take a look at the house mods by LD50365 www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/users/6942439 - to start you off I know for a fact that Frostvale Estate does, but I'm pretty sure they probably all do.
  22. Definitely follow twiztedmongoloids advice on this!!! It could save you having to start from scratch after deleting all your files & redownloading the game (like I had to) - more than once actually :(
  23. I agree that Frostvale Estate is a very nice & lore friendly large home (all Ld50365s houses are definitely worth taking a look at). Since you stated that you don't want merchants I wanted to let you know that I have used this home in the past & you can disable the merchants with a book in the master bedroom.
  24. Elysium Estate provides you with everything - it's basically a homestead farm just outside Whiterun with an appearance of understated & homey wealth that avoids being over the top. You don't have to pay for it but you are "granted worthy" by Kynareth - you could leave obtaining it until you feel you have done enough, or maybe even choose to make a large "donation" first at one of her temples (when you find your perfect home it probably won't have a pay feature & you will have to either tweak one in yourself via the CK or get creative with how you obtain it in game).
