Flickering textures and other oddities with Shrapnel: The Definitive W

So, in general, I really like Azhtek's "Shrapnel: The Definitive Weapons Collection" I used his old overhaul replacers back during my first playthrough, and was really exited to use this new collection in my second playthrough alongside book of earache. Everything is (mostly) going swimmingly, but I'm getting a lot of strange oddities on many of Azhtek's weapons specifically. Meshes and Textures on his weapons tend to screw up pretty randomly. The shotgun shells strapped to the stock of the trench gun have moved themselves into the stock itself (although they didn't start out that way) and still other weapons get those dreaded flickering textures that we all love that will turn the stainless steel ejection port of an otherwise beautiful pistol into a flickering disco light. So, with this in mind, and a head full of frustration, I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems and found any similar solutions. The page for Shrapnel doesn't seem to have much support, which is understandable, as Azhtek has said himself that he doesn't have much time to work on the mod and is busy with other things. I've attempted to rienstall the textures and meshes a few times, but to no avail. What is it exactly that could be causing these gaffs? Could it be a mod conflict? A conflict with something seemingly unrelated in my meshes or textures folder? Am I running too many mods? (I have about 85 plug ins in my load order). Right now I have an absolutely exquisite SVI Infinity Carbon that I would love to have as my primary sidearm, but I the metal parts of the gun keep changing color to brown and purple and back again. Anyone have any ideas?

other weapons get those dreaded flickering textures

activate archive invalidation from within FOMM

turn it off, than back on again

I tried that and it didn't seem to work. I'll give it another shot. Should I turn it off, start up the game, make a clean save, quit and then turn it back on again?

Yeah, that's what I did, a few times. I think that some of the textures on some of the guns are just borked. There are a lot of weapons in that mod and its doubtful that Azhtek had time to quality control all of them to a huge extent. Just to see, I added the other two versions of the SVI Infinity with the console (there's a silver, a gold, and the carbon version-the one that I have) and the other two didn't have any funky texture problems. Its not a huge deal, I guess I found that gun and really, really liked it and got ticked off at the funky texture flickering. It's really distracting after awhile. Edited by roboroller
