Gaze of the Medusa

Have you seen Midas' Freeze Ray mod? I am asking for a good modder to try thier hand at a turn to stone mod. I don't think I'm quite that good, as it would probably go outside of the regular CS capabilities. I would like to lure marauders and bandits into one particular uninhabited cavern with my mage and turn them to stone while in battle, creating my own colusseum of warriors. Anyway, I would like the spell to simply turn the attacker into a permanent statue of stone right where they are. The name could be either "petrify" or "medusa's gaze." I imagine a small projectile of pure red and blue magic coming from the mages hands or eye level (you could play around with it, I'm not too choosy about this). I think the sound effects that the medusas give off when casting thier gaze in Might and Magic VI would be really cool. But if you can't do that, well, neither could I (again it would be your mod, so you could experiment). Also important...you're turning your attacker to stone...permanently, in one shot...this spell should be for masters of alteration only.

Optionally, not too important, but to be really advanced, characters in game might have a small chance of resisting the spell, based on a willpower of 95 or higher or high magic resistance. Nothing a marauder or bandit are too likely to have :). But, my feelings would not be hurt if you left this feature out!

I also had the thought of being able to petrify into bronze or, even, gold. But, I was afraid this might ruin the "classic" feel of the spell. Maybe if there were 3 different spells that you could choose from, that way you would not necessarily have to have that ability (spell).

Anyway, I really hope to get a quick taker or two as I think this could be a really fun spell. Thanks everyone.

ps. You get 100% full credit for this mod, so have fun with it. Just let me know when you're done!

I suggest trying to get in contact with Xilver (maker of Midas Magic) about this, I'm sure he'd atleast take it into consideration for one of his patches. And he seems to know quite a bit about spell making so he may be able to give this mod the attention it needs.
