Van Graff Quest Line Wierdness?

Today I did the start of the Van Graff quests when I was testing a new mod of mine and this is the first time I did that quest since FONV 1.2.

This is not a big deal, its just an annoyance.

The second stage of the Van Graff quest line is to deliver a package to a guy out in the desert. I did this quest in FONV 1.2 and IIRC he used to be down closer to the Grub'N'Gulp area but anyhow, he is now due east of Freeside out in the desert ... not a big deal there.

The annoying thing though is that to get your compass marker to update to him, there is an interim location marker located INSIDE Isaac's house. (Isaac btw is the gun runner machinist who works at his bench near Vendortron, and his house is due east of there straight down the road a ways.) The interior of Isaac's house is a trespass area and both front and back doors are flagged red for his ownership.

So I'm pretty sure this is a glitch that got put in FONV 1.3, that compass marker waypoint inside Isaac's house should not be there. Last time I went straight from Freeside down to meet the guy I don't recall having to tramp through Isaac's house to get my compass marker updated.

As I said, its minor but annoying.

Anyone care to comment?

Yeah I've run it maybe 4 times with and without any mods before I released it.

The waypoint seems to be the door into Isaac's house and it gets added when you exit the East gate from Freeside into the Mojave Wasteland. Prior to that point there does not appear to be a marker in Isaac's house.

It probably also explains why there is no reference in the Birds of a Feather quest in GECK, the only marker referenced is the contact you are supposed to meet.

So I think there is some bug in the game that when you travel through the Freeside east gate somehow the marker gets updated incorrectly. It was pointing to the Freeside gate but then when you exit it points to the door in Isaac's house, not directly to the contact as it should. Maybe its a bug with the engine or maybe the door is in close proximity to a wilderness cell border. I don't know how the game engine works when its calculating the "path" on interim waypoint markers, but it seems as though the game engine believes you must transit the door to Isaac's house in order to be able to reach the contact, even though you and he are both in the wilderness and you don't need to go through this house to reach him.
