Mods are NOT Disabled in Survival Beta, Beth changed how plugin.txt works

So I've tried this, and the mods load, but enabling archiveinvalidation (or just adding all the folders manually like when mods first came out) makes my game crash on loading. Is there a workaround for that? Or am I the only one experiencing it?

Same tried running LOOT and no dice. I hope this isnt a sign of things to come.

Can this trick be used to load other .ESMs other than Fallout4.esm and RobotDLC.esm?

I have an esm in my example, so yes.

Good point. Thanks

I'm glad all the cry baby claims that Bethesda has broken modding were wrong.

They sort of weren't wrong though.

Bethesda changed it and didn't say anything about it. So in essence, they did disable mods until someone accidentally ran into the change.

Also, calling people crybabies for a temporarily legit issue? Not cool.

Except that they did:

GSTAFF: I'm still getting used to the forums, too. Happened to see this thread as I'm flying back home.

So a few things re: mods.

First, we didn't disable them. As Jurassica mentioned, introducing the revamped Survival Mode to Fallout 4 introduces significant changes to how the game operates, and with this, it can have an impact on the mods you're attempting to load in. We're already seeing folks in this thread figuring some things out, as is the case when we put out other updates.

Second, Survival Mode is in beta right now, and during this process, we're going to be relaying feedback to the team based on all of your experiences. We're getting feedback in this very thread and that's why we're following up.

With the beta, it's great to hear your feedback while playing mods however most of these mods were created before we even announced the new mode. Like add-ons, Survival Mode brings changes to the game, and we simply cannot test for all scenarios for all third party mods. We encourage you to give Survival Mode a shot without mods. If you'd prefer to wait until it's released, that's okay, too. And of course, the mode is entirely optional.

Lastly, since we're on the topic of mods, we will be reporting updates soon on the new Creation Kit for Fallout 4. Thank you & stay tuned.

Besides, it's a beta test. They are not obligated to tell everyone the changes they made that may be incompatible with 3rd party software.

If you don't add the * to Fallout4.esm it will probably still load. However, if you don't add it to the DLC then the DLC may not load. There is no way to know for now but I would add them with the asterisk as a precaution.

If this is so then mods that depend from DLCRobot.esm wil not be able to load. But they are able as we can see their effects. That is the way to know imho.

Sorry my English )

Okay, so this may be a very stupid question to a lot of you, but I seriously have no experience in terms of how mods work.

So in my plugin.txt I see a bunch of my mods, but I also have some other mods that do not appear in this list or in the load order. This mod is http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5810/? the spring version.

Is there any way that I can activate this mod?

It's a replacer so it doesn't contain an esp, you don't activate it, just install it using nmm or extract the files to your Data folder

I had it installed via nmm, but it didn't work as soon as I tried the survival beta. I've tried uninstalling the beta just now, and now it works again

Not all mods needs *.esp or *.esm files. Most of retexture mods (like 4Seasons) do not need them. If theese mods are activated you can see on the Mods tab of NMM.

*Also DEF_UI mod does not need esp. And we know about this mod is incompatible with FO 1.5.xx and makes game crashes while save loading.

** 4Seasons works correctly, I checked it.

Please note: In the coming few days many ways to make some conflicted mods working is not yet properly implemented. If you do not have sufficient experience in installing mods, it would be logical to wait for about a week, while modders will publish the official updates.

*Sorry my English. Such figures of speech are difficult for me. I hope you understand.
