HELP ME!

dynamo

Recommended Posts

I just installed Morrowind, tribunal and bloodmoon but whenever i try to run the game i get error messages:

C:\ProgramFiles\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Morrowind Launcher.exe

A device attatched to the system is not functioning.

The another:

Error Starting Program

The D3D8.DLL file is linked to missing exprt DDRAW.DLL:DdEntry12.

Any help would be extremely useful,

Thanks in advance.

I dug this up on annoyances.org:

Means that the DRAW.DLL (which should be located in the \Windows\System folder) can not be found (missing ?), or the Windows path command has been changed, or the entry 18 in this module can not be found because it is corrupted.

Make sure the DRAW.DLL is in the \Windows\System folder, else extract a clean copy.

(you can either reinstall as peregrine says in his post, if you have the dx8 files, or do a google on draw.dll and you can probably find someplace to download it)

However, since d3d8.dll is from directx8 or 8.1, you might try upgrading to dx9 or as a last resort, copy the dsd8.dll file into the game directory itself.

Okay, there are only three errors that the program has detected...

Display Tab 1: The file nvdisp.drv is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs. You may be able to get a signed driver from the manufacturer of the hardware device.

Machine name: HPPAV

Operating System: Microsoft Windows ME (4.90, Build 3000)

The first is just the standard Windows moaning about not having registered drivers... Nothing to worry about. The latter two, however, suggest a corrupted DxDiag, because I know you aren't using an HP Pavilion with Windows ME... Really, how could you get Morrowind to run? How could you even get your browser to run?
