huntsman2310a
I'm currently doing the finishing touchs on my first weapon mod for New Vegas, the Apollo Laser Pistol from Van Buren. it has a completely new model, new texture and everything (i'm not sure how to do sounds). But I would like to know how to convert the completed Blend file to a NIF. And since I'm using Blender 2.5.8, there isn't a NIF script yet. SmileyCat
According to a google-search, you should find the appropriate results you want here, I think that the blender nif script is what you want, I am not entirely sure though, I have never done anything texture-related. Quetzlsacatanango
If there's no nif script for 2.5x you will probably have to go back to 2.49. Hopefully your blend file opens in it.
SpeedyB64
Worst case scenario you have to export an obj file and import that into nifskope.
huntsman2310a
thanks guys, are OBJs are bad file to export as when making a game model?

huntsman2310a
okay another question. Does my weapon mod require seperate texture files? or can I just put materials on in Blender and use them as a substitute?
SpeedyB64
Well the nif file will contain the model data and the path to the separate texture file in dds format.
huntsman2310a
So I take it I have to give it its own textures in GIMP or something? Or is the materials in Blender part of the model data?
