What level were you when you finished the main quest? Did you keep playing?

Current character is 79 and I've just finished the Valentine quests, so I'm nowhere near. I'll get around to it eventually lol.

How in the world do you get there? I mean without getting bored out of your mind? I cannot get past level 17 to 20 and I start getting into situations where my character gets killed over and over again with very little warning or ability to fight of the attackers, never mind running away. There, for me at least, seems to be a point at those levels where I just don't generate experience points. It seems that the adversaries in game are so much higher than my character that it becomes to daunting to continue. I have tried numerous builds on characters, hoping that will give some advantage, but nothing seems to work.

Any tips from you folks that these very high levels would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

I assume you wont like to cheat, or it would be rather easy to get there...

I usually first get my sneak-skill up fast... it helps tremendously to be very sneaky. They cant shoot what they cant see. Then my gun-skills.. i never use energy guns, just ballistic ones. Silenced weapons help to not alert every one that you are there. Shoot one and hide... etc. you got to shoot people to get experience points. i personally like to snipe.. by the time they know where i am.. i can be somewhere else.

Stay away from the south for the first 20 levels.. the higher level enemies are all there. Animals also generate experience points, in case you need any. I personally hate power-armor.. never use it.. but i hear it can protect you pretty good. i also hardly ever use VATS... but i can be effective. The IF-88 shotgun is one amazing weapon for close and personal encounters, if all else fails, and the need arises. Don't leave home without it. you can download it from the nexus.

This will get you by pretty good.
