Dazaster
Hey there, I haven't been using the Witcher 3 site long, but I've some questions about some oddities there. The first is, any image uploaded to the imageshare is automatically set to "hidden", requiring a manual input to change. Secondly, when Google searching for a mod for the game it often brings up Skyrim mods but with a W3 background, like this:http://i.imgur.com/SUvAl2z.jpg I typed witcher 3 pose mod into Google and it brought that back, it's actually Skyrim mod 58394. Hmm.
ZurinArctus85
That sometimes happens with the Dragon Age 2 site as well, I've noticed.
UhuruNUru
The first is, any image uploaded to the imageshare is automatically set to "hidden", requiring a manual input to change.I never upload images (Except in a post, as help), but either that's default, and/or your settings. I see no problem either way. Not sure of the point, if default then of course it requires a manual change.Seems the best idea, to have it hidden until it's ready to view. Check all is as intended, then unhide it Secondly, when Google searching for a mod for the game it often brings up Skyrim mods but with a W3 background, like this:Clearly see the issue, with image, but that isn't how it works on Nexus, even pasting the mod number, into the Witcher path gives no file Kinoko Pose at Skyrim Nexus - mods and community http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58394/? copy 58394/? into http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/ giving http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/58394/? Result File not found The file you requested was not found in our database. The above is the basic structure of the mods core path even /? isn't required, just the mod IDSo I must look to the URL Google gave you, which isn't always the same thing, as the url the nexus needs.Times change and old links usually are dead ones, either way that url is the key. The pic is too small to see the writing, but I can clearly see it's longer than required.Seeing the full path is needed to say more, and I'm no expert, just a nerd, I know a bit of everything. [Edit] Looks like Staff could see URL, anyway answered below by DrakeTheDragon (I see how to get the link (quote and see BB code). Even with that it's still to small side effect of 2560x1440 screen, makes that pic about 1/10 size of my screen
DrakeTheDragon
Now that is an interesting find. Don't know why Google caches that bogus URLs such as the one in the image, but it revealed a fun fact I wasn't aware of myself until now. This Ajax parameter "selected_game" is actually capable of overriding the game given by the url path. The url path defines the design and the "selected_game" parameter selects the game. Argonian Beautification for Skyrim, anyone? (It's not, but it looks almost legit!) Game 101 is Oblivion, so the selected file page works, even though the webpage design is taken from the url path, which says Skyrim instead. So to finish it off, there's nothing inherently wrong on the Nexus end of things. Just this parameter in the URL allows for utterly bogus URLs cached on Google's end to still function for some reason. It's Google's fault for caching this nonsense, and a little weakness on the Nexus' end funnily making Google's nonsense still work.
