Arialina
Hi . I m just wondering if some people are like me still looking for follower that looks less like teenager with women's curve..*sigh*To be honest I really admire some of you that makes n-followers Mods ,even that made mods.., i m conscious about the HUGE time it took to you ...But Most follower new mods i found each week is only resuming to lil girls' faces with women's sexy shapes and curves...Skyrim , to me is more a wild place, dangerous, full of adventure where even follower may dies!(like you can too..) I m crying each time i m reading a description with "essential" everything dies...Even the dovakhin ...so why never followers..?What is the challenge playing a character looking like Conan, ridding the wild with a teenager follower most of the time wearing make up like a stolen car..and that cannot DIE *HUGE FACEPALM* Are there any peoples around that are still willing to play Skyrim like a real dangerous place with challenge (i meant , not watching your teenager (follower )doing all the job for you ..? I m playing in Legendary difficulty and tbh most followers are just spoiling the challenge sometime... Are there any brave adventurers in here that feels the same? Simdrew1993
Couldn't agree more, there is too much of the same thing these days. Skyrim is a wild place sure it's fine if you want to play it as lore unfriendly as you'd like but some of us like to play the game realistically. When I'm done with my follower mods I aim to make them rough, sure my woman followers can be beautiful too but it's Skyrim gotta look rough somehow a little dirt, little scars, burns, same for my guy followers when my overhaul is complete someday after I can figure out why the vanilla NPC's like Elenwen and Ulfric will not be replaced with the new look I give them seriously where is a guide on replacing default vanilla characters with a standalone npc/follower appearance. Can't find anything and nif merge didn't do it for me. UGH! Absolutely nothing. But yes I agree with you, there's too much of the same thing going around, nothing wrong with that, it's just not what everyone wants including me and you we want a more of a rough Skyrim. Do you know how to replace Vanilla NPC's with that of a new face for a mod if so link me to it. someone like me can change what people want with talent, for the better Thanks! Edited April 14, 2016 by Simdrew1993

bben46
Modders make mods for exactly the reasons you are complaining about. They see something in the game that they think should be different. But, instead of complaining, "Why doesn't somebody make this?" they learn how to mod and make it themselves. Once you learn to mod, you will spend more time modding than playing the game. And modding becomes the game. I know modders who have never finished the game, because they are having too much fun modding it.
Arialina
"Modders make mods for exactly the reasons you are complaining about."Yes you are right Bben46 but it requires i think more time to Mod than to play .And tbh i have a very busy life so planing to makes mod works wouldn't really fit my enjoyment time.I m more a mod-consumer than a creator. Some are doing it already better than me ..the more it goes, the more there must be some skill requirement for doing perfect mod(meshes, things about skin , programming and so on..and i m a billion years away from all those skills ) My main idea behind this topic was to point at the actual fashion with non lore friendly character (anime type) and the lack of realism because of some follower that just spoiling the game's interest (Like some follower do the job, you're here to lot and interact with quest actor..) I m calling for more killable follower , make life risky in Skyrim ..and i was wondering if some peoples are already sharing this point of view.. Above all I am fully conscious that even if i let a comment on a follower anime mod that i didn't like ..(and been warned by staff that it was not acceptable) on the other hand i did recognised that these must have been a lot of work ..Some people should take more in consideration ALL KIND OF advice and criticism when it s not for trolling . bben46
Being a consumer of mods is not a problem here. It's not like the sites that demand you have a certain upload to download ratio or get penalized. We really don't want that here. Feel free to download all you want without feeling any pressure to upload anything at all. People make the mods they want to see in their game. Not the mods you wish they would make. For some reason teen boys make mods of teen girls, and then endorse other mods of teen girls made by other teen boys ( we do seem to have a lot of 13 to 17 year old boys here. :whistling: ) and anime is very popular in certain circles. It's been a while since I messed with the construction kit, but as I remember it is a single flag on that character that changes an NPC from essential to killable. Most people don't want to be looking for a new a companion after every combat so they are willing to suspend disbelief for that detail. But there are mods for that.http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/17784/?http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8170/? As for realism, It's a Fantasy game! It's not supposed to be real. When was the last time you saw a real Dragon? And lore, Beth has changed the lore to fit the story in each game. You may not agree with what some other lore monger claims is lore. So who is right? Lore is what you want it to be, not some engraved stone tablet residing in a vault at Bethsoft. And just how is someone else playing a mod you consider not lore affecting you at all? Now get out there and kill some goblins.
badooga
I agree, having all of these shitty standalone waifu follower mods is getting pretty annoying. As a mod maker, I was thinking about a radiant mercenary system, in which random mercenaries would appear within cities or towns that have randomized races, appearances, and classes (i.e. 2-H warrior, light armored spellsword, pure mage, etc). One could potentially hire them, and then... well, have them as a follower. They wouldn't be the most interesting mercenaries, nor the most unique (but it would mean they wouldn't break any lore), but it could potentially work out. As far as I could tell, no one has made a mod with that specific idea in mind (unless I'm being an oblivious idiot, which you should tell me if I am). After I'm finished with my current projects, would any of you be interested in that idea? Edited April 16, 2016 by badooga
ScottC12
If you search Nexus Skyrim mod Files in both categories Companions - Other and Followers, then sort by Most Endorsed, there are many, many follower mods of all kinds to choose from, for a variety of personal tastes. If you are looking for a mature female follower, I'd recommend Arissa the Wandering Rogue (custom voice and AI), Braithwen Fernleaf, Maerwen Briarthorne, Proserpine, and Uthegerd Kriegswolf - Attractive but Lore-Friendly Replacer, to name a few. In addition, the excellent SkyDream follower sets are beautiful, but don't look like teenagers. Just equip them with some sensible armor, give them good weapons, and off you go - Good hunting!
