Ruadhan2300
alright, so some may be aware my computer died about four weeks ago.I've been busily reinstalling critical modding software and discovered to my dismay a number of things. 1. Blender's new version has a completely different layout for the interface2. Blender now requires a new version of python3. both blender and python are no longer compatible with PyFFI essentially, I can't model for fallout 3 or new vegas anymore because I can't import or export nif files in the new blender. unless that is there's a new version of PyFFI which is compatible with the new blender and python....I'm not seeing anyone else complaining. the version I was running before my computer died was as follows:Blender 2.49b - windowsPython 2.5.6PyFFi - 2.1.9 unfortunately, since python has moved on, the windows installer files for python 2.5.6 are no longer available. its entirely tarballs now and I don't understand those well enough to use them. so either someone passes on a copy of the windows installer, a link to it, or tells me what stupid silly little thing I missed out....or I can't do any more 3D modelling for new vegas. LHammonds
I'm guessing you missed the pinned thread that says "Read me 1st" and the link inside called How to install Blender which contains a link to the 2.49b package I have uploaded to TESNexus. Those packages have everything you need for modeling with Blender (Blender, Python, PyFFI, NifScripts and NifSkope). The 2.5x version of Blender is too new. The niftools developers held off trying to convert NIF Scripts and PyFFI until there was a stable 2.5x version available...which was not too long ago. They just need time to work out all the differences...which is huge from the internal side. When there is a stable and working version of NIF scripts that work with Blender 2.5x, you can expect to find it uploaded to the same TESNexus link in that article since the whole point of my Blender page is to provide stable builds of all the necessary software that work well together in order to avoid setup problems and be able to jump feet first into modeling.
